haven't really listened to it all the way yet, but i did hear dave grohl on the radio a few weeks back (on Loveline, perhaps?) saying that he felt this album was far better than their past couple (just as you noted, Maud'Dib)... he was saying that, at least off of One by One, they had written only 3 or 4 really good songs, and the rest was basically just filler
