I can't read tabs, so when I look at tabs it's like trying to descipher greek.

I say, just start off with a bar chords at the lower end of the fret board with the high strings. Stand here with me is the same note pattern. Or just watch tremonti play it live and just put your fingers on the fret board where he has his and work from there, and tune down if you have to because 95% of the creed tunes are tuned down. I most always use standard tuning because tuning down to me is a pain in the ass.
