Just Like Me

If you could see me as I am
You’d think I was insane
You’ll never fully understand
My sadness or my pain
Could you comprehend
The magnitude of my rage
No, it’s simply lost to you
Dead words upon a page

Teaching me a lesson
Is something that won’t work
At times to be with others
Just really seems to hurt
Even when you think you’re kind
I want to hide from you
Yet, I need the contact…
So what am I to do?

Just don’t want be the one
That always seems to know
You can’t fix me…Please don’t try
I’m not your dog and pony show
Even tho, we don’t agree
Doesn’t mean that I’ve been broken
It’s really sad when one can’t be
Honest with their emotions

Why not practice
What you preach…
Always in denial
Pretending that you’re so tough
Of course that’s just your style
Inside you’re feeling terrified
Lost…so much like me
Knowing how reality bites
Living with your animosities
