IMO, Keith Moon will always be the best. And Zak Starkey kicks ASS on the kit. Flip is great but I wouldn't say he's the best I've ever heard.

The list is to long to write here but I do agree that Flip is a great drummer.

Mike Portnoy is my favorite drummer ever...

Nice list, Dekwannabflea...I'd have to add Sean Kinney from Alice In Chains to that list as well :D. Scott's decent, but I wouldn't put him in the "great" category just yet. I'm also partial to Danny Carey, Josh Freese, Matt Cameron, and of course, Bonham.

I think Flip is getting a lot better, he has potential to be up there.....He just needs tikme to "actually" play and show off, something he never did in creed.

Yup...he definitely has potential.

Lars Ulrich is still better, but Flip is my fav, he's such a nice guy!! I'd say Flip comes somewhere close after Lars.

On top of the top; I study drums at the conservatorium of amsterdam, so i kinda know a little about the drum thing.

Mike Portnoy is off the heezy, definitely (both in Dream Theater and in Liquid Tension Experiment... if you like pure instrumental progressive metal, check out LTE, they kick ass!)
Neil Peart (Rush), he's awesome, but maybe that's just b/c i love Rush
oh, and the drummer for Iron Butterfly... I don't care if they were one-hit-wonders, In-A-Gadda-da-Vida kicks ass!

and i must agree that Flip needs more chances to show off. that'd be tight. i think it'd be pretty cool if AB sorta moved towards more of a prog-metal feel. they got mark who can shred quite well, myles has quite the dynamic voice, flip is evidently a kick-ass drummer, and i'm sure brian wants some chances to play the hell outta his bass

also, Chad Sexton (311), he's pretty good when he gets going

I agree somewhat, I think they should have some progressive stuff (like The end is here) but i think that they can work with what they have right now. Moving toward a prog metal band wouldn't be a good think i believe, but there is room for some of those types of songs.

Would be cool, but right now I wanna enjoy this record - it's WOW!!! :eek:

Flip has certainly improved out of sight inbetween these records but he is still behind such guys carey, freese, portnoy, grohl and cameron amongst others.

I think all the members in AB are unterrated in what they're doing!!

I absolutely ADORE Morgan Rose of Sevendust. He is the MASTER of his drumkit!!

Of his drumkit, yeah, Flip is the master of his! :D

Phillips is better than the average rock drummer, but my favorites are John Bonhan (Led Zeppelin) and Carter Beauford (Dave Matthews Band)! I hope Flip does some drum solos or something cool live.

morgan rose is a fantastic drummer and those screams....oh yeah! :) tommy lee is such a sad human being, he and pammy lets just say they belong together! ;)

Rick only has one arm and still plays drums, which is completely bitchin!

Yeah, I agree with that sentiment...they deserve each other...and, yeah, Morgan's good...

He's a a great drummer, but he ain't no Dave Lombardo (possibly the greatest ever to play the drums)
