The Great Divide Platinum

I thought this was interesting go to http://www.riaa.com/gp/database/default.aspand type in Scott Stapp for Artist. It says that The Great Divide has gone Platinum. Also I found this while searching: http://www.sonybmg.com.au/cd/release...No=82876753902. It says "'The Great Divide' debuted at #19 in the US in November, and has already exceeded Platinum sales there." I thought that was very interesting considering it doesnt say so on his or Wind Ups website. I thought it was interesting what about you guys?

well, just remember how long it took the old creed site to update when human clay sales started picking up. one day they were gold, then the next they were 2x platinum.

as for the news, i'm still skeptical. other than the things that say it has shipped platinum, that riaa site says they were certified gold and platinum on the same day (12/14/05). that's weird. even in the possible, though extremely unlikey, event of an album selling 500,000 copies in one day, the new certification wouldn't have taken place until at least the next business day.

Re: The Great Divide Platinum

the platinum is how many copies that have been shipped and not actually sold...that number is less than platinum...

What i'm pretty sure we're all thinking.

Stapp's solo debut = flop.

Re: The Great Divide Platinum

Maybe it could be considered a flop, but the ones who bought the album love it as do I.

I bought the album and it's just decent, but I'm almost sorry I supported the guy by buying his album....

You guys.... 1 million copies is a shitload. Especially for a solo album of a guy who's band's popularity peaked six years ago.

If you ask me this album sold TOO much...

Where exactly is it stated one million copies have sold? I'd like to read about it.

Whoever wrote it probably screwed up. It's been certified platinum for shipped, not sold. I can't imagine it selling a million copies. It just isn't that good. The Sam Goody near me was closing and it had a huge sale and on the last day, I popped in there, and there had to be 30 copies of it on the rack.
