The Bird

The Bird

In his hands he held the bird...
Fragile and trembling
Like a lovers heart
Compassion filled his own
For her bravery and courage
As she played her part
Of mother and protector...
His touch was gentle
As he spoke in whispers
Kind and true
She trusted him...
As she knew he knew
What to do...
His lips touched her head
Like a brath of wind
As he felt her softness against his cheek
Closing his eyes, he worked his magic...
Then set her free again
