This is so insane you guys, I can't breath, my lungs hurt, my eyes burn, my kids can't play outside at school or home, the sky is smoke filled and gross looking, the smell is really getting to me, my inlaws may have to evacuate soon, they live in the mountians it is now climbing up, the place where I grew up is scorched, people are dieing, animals are dieing, wildlife is destroyed, it looks like it's snowing except it's ash! It's fricken HOT and windy, there is no end in sight and there is some crazy mother fucker going around starting them. This is crazy and depressing!! I'm very lucky so far the fires are far enough away to where we don't have to worry, but with people starting them and the winds you never know where the next one will be. I am literally surrounded by fires!!

whew................... just had to vent!!!! It's really getting me down!!! :crying:

Awwww, marlsy, I know, it's so tragic. :( :crying: You and your family have been in my thoughts the last few days. I can't believe people are deliberately starting these fires. :grr: It's really sad to see the destruction and hear about all of the loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your in-laws.:hugs: :hugs: Stay safe and take care of yourself.

whitebird 10-27-2003 09:39 PM

Marsley, I am also hurting for you. I do not understand the willful destruction of people, animals and nature. The awful horror that fire leaves in it's wake is a crime against humanity and nature when it is wilfully set.

I'm so sad to hear that your children are effected, and that the place that you knew as a child is so badly damaged. I hope that rains will come in time to help. I know that many others besides myself are sending their strength and love in hopes that it will help everyone through this dreadful time.

VillageWolf 10-28-2003 12:00 AM

Yeah I live just north of the fires. If you walk out my door at night you can see the the mountain side glowing orange. Scary.

Dogstar 10-28-2003 12:05 AM

Man, that is just awful, Marlsy. Please stay safe. You, yours and that whole region will be in my thoughts and prayers. I have never understood the willful destruction of anyone or anything. It boggles my mind how anyone could get off doing such a thing. It's criminal.

marlsy 10-28-2003 11:50 AM

Thank you everyone for your concern! My inlaws have to get off the mountian this morning, they have to get their horses and dogs off the mountian. This is just something else!!

Where do you live VillageWolf? Isn't this just awful? I've never seen anything like this!

VillageWolf 10-28-2003 02:43 PM

Not far thats for sure. Everyone's getting kind of antsy here today while watching the news. I live in the high desert area. This is all just pretty sad. I remember the hypothetical situation question people would ask you, "if your house was on fire what would you take". Thats always been a hard question for me to answer besides taking my pets. I've been thinking of getting a suitcase set up by my bedroom door.

Very depressing. Relatives keep calling asking if my family is ok. My aunt lives closer to La and she said her car is covered in ashes.

I hope everything is going to be ok Marsly. Best wishes.

JulieCitySlicker 10-28-2003 02:58 PM
