Well, if you've been a married woman
And things didn't seem to work out
Divorce is the key to being loose and free
But you're gonna be talked about
Everybody knows that you loved once
They think you'll love again
You can't have a male friend
When you're a has-been

(took out 3 obvious lines)

You're some kind of gold
Even men turnin' silver try to make
But I think it's wrong
To judge every picture
If a cheap camera makes a mistake

That's hard...I think there should be a rule that if someone doesn't get the answer in a certain amount of days we can move on to another song

I agree. If you like, pick the next song.

The above that I posted was Rated X by Loretta Lynn or you could of said the cover by The White Stripes.

lpshinoda11 08-14-2004 03:33 AM

k here's the next song:

On a Monday, I am waiting
Tuesday, I am fading
And by Wednesday, I can't sleep
Then the phone rings, I hear you
And the darkness is a clear view
Cuz you've come to rescue me

Fall... With you, I fall so fast
I can hardly catch my breath, I hope it lasts

I say that we should switch to a new song if someone hasn't got it 3 days after it's posted....I'm not sure what an acceptable number would be so I just threw one out.

Ashlee Simpson... Pieces of me... :D

You get your lust from the rich man's gold,
All that you need now is in your soul,
And you can do this, oh baby, if you try...
All that I want for you my son,
Is to be satisfieeeeeeed...

Ashlee Simpson? No wonder I didn't know it. :D

Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man

NEXT:

Don't even try to understand
What goes on inside this man
As a boy I used to dream
Cuz sometimes life ain't what it seems

We used to dance under moonlight
But then the tears began to fall
And baby that ain't right

WeatheredWoman 08-24-2004 11:52 PM

Lol Smilin! ;)

Misery Loves Company by Mike Ness...

Sit here on the stairs,
'Cause I'd rather be alone...
If I can't have you right now,
I'll wait dear
Sometimes, I get so tense...
But I can't speed up the time,
But you know, love, there's one more thing to consider...

Patience by Guns n Roses

She lit a burner on the stove and offered me a pipe
"I thought you'd never say hello," she said
"You look like the silent type."
Then she opened up a book of poems
And handed it to me
Written by an Italian poet
From the thirteenth century.
And every one of them words rang true
And glowed like burnin' coal
Pourin' off of every page
Like it was written in my soul from me to you
....

Higher_Desire 11-02-2004 01:38 PM

Wow. This thread came back. I thought it was gone forever. No one's posted in it since August.

Guess no one knew that this is from Bob Dylan's "Tangled Up In Blue."

Someone can put the next song if they like. :)

Trimontana 11-03-2004 03:13 PM

Something easy...here i go:

"I feel irrrational
so confrontational
to tell the truth
i am getting away with murder
it is impossible to never tell the truth
but the reality is i am getting away with murder"

:) :) :) :)

Getting Away With Murder ~ Papa Roach

Higher_Desire 11-03-2004 05:46 PM

Piece of advice Trimontana, you really shouldn't put the line in the song thats the same as the title. It just keeps it a bit harder.

Try this:
Love can be so heartless
when you turn out the lights
A mutual surrender
in the heat of the night
Life's an empty picture
when your living alone
Maybe that's the reason
every heart needs a home.

(I love this song!)

Soldier Of Love ~ Donny Osmond

RMadd 11-16-2004 10:51 PM

I guess I better post a lyric too, eh, just to keep the game going?

Oh let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream
I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been
To sit with elders of the gentle race, this world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait and all will be revealed

Higher_Desire 12-05-2004 06:38 PM

I think I just figured out why this thread died...

SmilinSkullRing 05-15-2005 07:48 PM

That is Static-X. Fix is the name?

If so, here is the next one. If not just ignore it.

I'm looking for the original artist, but if it has been recorded on an album I'll take the cover artist as well.

"They pick me up and put me in the county jail
They pick me up and put me in the county jail
Wouldn't even let my woman come and go my bail
Now, I'm in prison, but I almost did my time
Now, I'm in prison, but I almost did my time
They give me six months, but I had to work out nine"

Jester 05-16-2005 02:36 AM

Oops.. forgot to sing a little song for you:

"She never mentions the word addiction
In certain company
Yes, she’ll tell you she’s an orphan
After you meet her family

She paints her eyes as black as night, now
Pulls those shades down tight
Yeah, she gives a smile when the pain comes,
The pain’s gonna make everything alright..."

creedsister 07-24-2005 07:22 PM

I guess I will post some lyrics...hope that isn't a foul...remember I'm a "newbie"...*winks*

"Kiss me, please kiss me
But kiss me out of desire, babe, and not consolation
You know it makes me so angry cause I know that in time
Ill only make you cry, this is our last goodbye..."

JEFF BUCKLEY!!!!!!
LAST GOODBYE...

YEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

my tuuuurrrnnn!

Don't kid yourself
And don't fool yourself
This love's too good to last
And I'm too old to dream

Don't grow up too fast
And don't embrace the past
This life's too good to last
And I'm too young to care

Don't kid yourself
And don't fool yourself
This life could be the last
And we're too young to see

Sincirr 12-07-2005 12:19 AM

No takers?????!!!!!!

SummerGirl 12-07-2005 09:37 AM

RMadd 12-08-2005 02:41 PM

'tis Blackout by Muse

here's some lyrics I just heard on the radio... i can't put too much, b/c i think that might be a dead giveaway...

But don't be fooled by the radio
The tv or the magazines
They show you photographs of how your life should be
But they're just someone else's fantasy
