Blaster Worm
Did anyone get that blaster worm virus? I did, and it was a pain to get rid of.
I had it. Fixed a bunch of other people's computer's too. It's not that bad to get rid of. Just install a patch, and stop the program from the task manager to delete any remnants.

how'd you get that?
it effected Windows XP and 2000 users
By being connected to the internet. The worm travels through the internet, and infects people's computers, but it doesn't infect the computer and cause it to crash like a virus does. It just causes it to keep shutting down.

AHH, i see

I got it to but thanks to Mullet and Colin I got it taken care of:dancing:

We got it at work tonight! But the systems people contained it before it caused any real mayhem. We had to all log off and then log back on and the patch was installed.
it was rather easy to get rid off... and if you check the coding, its a rather primative virus for something that would caused this problem. in other words... this is just a beta for of the real thing. someone is out there testing his new toy so theres nothing to do but sit and wait...
Yeah, I kind of wondered about that because it didn't really cause any damage or even cripple the system, it just kept making people log off and stuff. They probably can figure out a way to get around the patch, too..
I didnŽt! But it was a huge "paranoya" at work! glad my system there was a win95... glad IŽll get a new puter soon as well!
every major virus out there i got it.. or try to get it. i am one of the few that still has a copy of the jack ripper virus...
the title of this thread sounds like something out of Tremors, speaking of which i just saw an episode of the tv show, lol
