Artists to appear on "Passion of the Christ" Songs of Inspiration

We all know Scott Stapp is releasing his first song, "Relearn Love", since splitting with Creed, but who are the other artists we can look forward too.

OK, I'll add what I have so far & if anybody has anything else...post away! :D

This is from the P.O.D. E-News...

“The Passion of the Christ - Songs of Inspiration” Soundtrack

It’s been rumored for months that P.O.D. have written an original song
inspired by ‘The Passion.’ We are now able to confirm this!

Before anyone was involved or before the film went on to become a billion
dollar film property, P.O.D. were invited to an early screening at Mel
Gibson’s office in Los Angeles.

As more and more celebrities and major artists saw the film and were
impacted by it, it led to the idea to do a unique, inspired by album...
with ALL original songs, exclusively for this record.

"This is the real deal-brutal, honest, touching," said P.O.D. singer Sonny
Sandoval. "This film made me check my own heart and my own faith. It's not
the fairy tale story of Christ we're all used to. So, even before anybody
wanted to be involved, in the heat of the controversy, I wanted to give back
and contribute to this..."

The multi-artist soundtrack comes out the SAME day as the dvd, Aug. 31st.
The DVD is shipping 17+ million the first week.

Ben Moody (Ex-Evanescence guitarist) states on his website that he and David Hodges (Ex-Evanescence pianist) have recorded a track for the upcoming album.

According to www.winduprecords.com, one of the 2004 releases is Passion of the Christ: Songs of Inspiration, so I'd think there may be more WU artists on it.

Ooh ooh, I just found this at http://www.scuzz.tv/ontv/1089388119.html

*** And speaking of compilation albums, P.O.D. have recorded a new track for an upcoming album inspired by the film The Passion Of The Christ. Imaginatively titled The Passion of the Christ - Songs Of Inspiration, the LP will also feature performances from LENNY KRAVITZ and CREED frontman Scott Stapp.

So I guess Lenny will be on it too...

Rob Thomas of matchbox 20 is also gonna be on it, along with lauren hill, POD, and scott stapp.

aussiecreeder 07-11-2004 01:54 AM

guess rob thomas is using it to kickstart his solo work as well.......

WeatheredWoman 07-11-2004 10:51 AM

Sounds very good so far!!! Keep 'em coming! :)

Creed_Defaultgirl 07-11-2004 03:43 PM

This sounds real good, #1 my Scott! Then Rob Thomas, I'm looking forward to what he's going to have on there, as well as Ben Moody and P.O.D. The part about Lenny Kravits, does that mean that he will be with Scott, or his own song??? That kinda confused me, but whatever he does will probably be good. His music's not bad. It just sucks when the radio plays his songs 24/7! It sucks when they do that to anything though. (with Creed, Scott Stapp, AB, and Default as an exception!)

Bridge of Clay 07-11-2004 03:56 PM

It would be cool to get AB on the soundtrack as well! and submersed. Finding You is a song that would fit. :)

Sheila63 07-11-2004 04:02 PM

I'm really excited about the cd!! Of course #1 being Scott but I'm also a Rob Thomas fan and I like Lenny Kravitz too.

benkenobi 07-11-2004 04:25 PM

I'm looking forward to anything new from P.O.D.!!! Ever since they got the new guitarist and came out with "Payable on Death" album. :D

I had not heard about Rob Thomas or Lenny Kravitz being on the album, but that will be awesome too.

Alter Shredder 07-11-2004 05:22 PM

see i had heard a while back that stapp and lenny worked together on something, but i dont know if this is that or not.

I saw an interview on TV with Stapp and he mentioned that Lenny lives right down the road so maybe they could get together on an album. I don't know if Scott's solo album will feature him or not. I thought it might sound pretty cool.
