I've just got this feeling that Creed would become more widely despised and looked down upon. He would appear, as has been previously stated, cocky... people would be like "what the hell is he doing acting?" Maybe if he were a bit taller (seriously...). I'm trying to think of other singers that have given acting a try... Britney ("Crossroads"?), Mariah Carey (can't remember the movie, but heard it was awful... "Glitter", perhaps?)... of course, I guess Marky Mark has had a few successful films. Arion Salazar (bassist for Third Eye Blind) has a cameo in Matrix: Reloaded in the Zion cave scene as part of the drum posse. But I sure don't see Scott in a leading role, if he does pursue this acting career.

Ehh, don't quit your day job stapp.

Well he can do a few cameos and see how it goes, if he's good at it then go for lead roles.

NO!

ARgh... I've been under the impression for years that Creed is about hard-rocking musical expression and not cheesy acting bits.

Creed's culmination is due to their fans, plain and simple. Going into acting will lower the (already low) amount of respect for Creed. They should be working on getting their reputation back up by creating a crunching new album with a minimum of glitz, glamour and popiness. Talk of Hollywood aspirations totally screws that goal over.

Remember, the hardcore fans are what support Creed. Without them, Creed is nothing but a franchise. Personally I'd like to see more dedication to music and less to business dealings. I mean c'mon, let's get back to Creed's roots.

I'm sure he's already thought of these things already! Plenty of bands have been in movies eg: Singles with PJ and the like. If he's good at it I don't think they'll lose too much respect but I agree make a cracking album, tour like crazy and then worry about side-projects.

velocity is right. I agree

hide: virgos...pfft. it's gone.

and stapp produced Big Dismal.

sorry, I can't picture Stapp as an actor right now... maybe if he give us a treat, like a special guest star appearence on TV, we could all change our minds! Or not!

but if it's gonna make him happy, I say go for it.

hide 11-06-2003 09:15 PM

are you sure that Virgos have broken up? I have heard much conjecture but no-one has shown me conclusive proof! Stapp produced for Big Dismal and also for The Colour Green. Whatever he wants to do really its his life! Make Creed no.1 again in the eyes of the public and then pursue that avenue.

mriamboring 11-06-2003 09:26 PM

It's his life, his choice

Dogstar 11-06-2003 09:40 PM

True, mriamboring, whatever makes him happy...I would miss the music, though :D.

I'd miss the music too Dogstar :(
But hey folks...it's his life to lead, not ours. He can do what he wants and should do whatever makes him happiest and most fulfilled.
