Myle's voice a comparison

I was thinking earlier where I would place his voice in comparison with other present day singers I regard very highly. For me Myles technically is right up there with anyone you can name. The range is there, so is the control the lot. Songwriting is good and he can weild an axe. For me though baritones generally impart more emotion to me even though I can think of a couple of tenors who are better singers in a more objective sense. Technically Myles is fantastic but emotionally he is high (like summergirl) but not in the elite perhaps.

Other singers who I rate very highly (current singers) include Chris Cornell, Maynard James Keenan, Eddie Vedder, Scott Stapp, Mike Patton, Trent Reznor, Donald Carpenter and the like. I would place Myles up there with anyone on that list as far as pure singing ability goes. Lyrically obviously someone like Maynard is far and above him. what do you think in your honest opinions?

I don't know who to compare with Myles. He's great, so technic, he goes high and low really easy. The first time I heard Edge I though it had 2 singers, but it was Myles all by himself.

He seems really versatile, which makes me anxious to hear Alter Bridge. I don't what will be the sound, but people said it's completely different from Creed. I'm definately sure that his tone fits to Mark's tone on this new band.

it gives Mark a chance to wail there, and he won't be playing in drop d so often one would think. at the higher end he can show that range with such ease.

I don't know because I haven't heard his voice. But from what you and everyone else have been saying that have heard his voice, he sounds great. But I can't compare if I haven't heard his voice

there are sound clips in the Music section.

From what I hear, he's VERY careful about maintaining his voice *thud*
(I was in choir for ages, so hearing that a pro musician still takes care of his voice is SO RARE)

his voice kinda reminds me of Chris Cornell, and his traning (Which you can hear) reminds me of the dude from The Darkness (simply cause you can HEAR the training that's in hitting those high notes!)

WE NEED MUSIC Dang it!!! lol (yes, I'm IMPATIENT!)
