Creed Needs Another Guitarist

I Think Creed Needs Another Guitarist
Mark Tremonti is very good but they need
a better sound than just one guitar
Metalica have a very good sound because the have 2 Guitarists
I Think Creeds Overall Image Would Change Greatly

Unforgiven Fan 11-06-2002 05:05 PM

creed would sound better with a second guitarist....

Bridge of Clay 11-06-2002 05:52 PM

no way!!!

Mark already stated that in the old days of Creed there was a second guitarrist, but it didnīt work it out...

And a second one wouldnīt have the balance that Mark and Stapp have, their chemistry in one in a million!

TeriB19 11-06-2002 09:09 PM

I think Creed sounds fine just the way they are. The only change they need to make is to have a permanent bassist, Brett.

I agree....Mark is brilliant...they don't need another one.

You act like having two guitarists is the norm, though, which it's pretty much not. I mean, yeah, there are plenty of 5-member rock bands, and even some with only 3 members (Creed's excluded here because it used to be 4 and will be again someday), but 4 is definitely the most common and it seems to work. I think it would only downplay Mark's talents.

TeriB19 11-06-2002 11:19 PM

Really. Mark has been very capable all these years and adding another guitarist would not only downplay Mark's talent, but it would be hard for the fans to accept another guitar player. It was hard for me to get used to Brett in the beginning but I know they needed a bassist and he is very capable himself. But adding another guitar player is not necessary.

Dogstar 11-06-2002 11:24 PM

Yeah, I think adding a guitarist would affect the band's chemistry. I think it would disrupt the balance of the Tremonti/Stapp writing combo. Besides, he's a wonderful guitarist and I wouldn't want his sound diminished by another player. His sound is one of the main reasons I'm such a fan of Creed.

TeriB19 11-06-2002 11:29 PM

Creed needs another guitarist like a fish needs a bicycle.:D

Dogstar 11-06-2002 11:30 PM

LOL!:D

luvscott4ever 11-06-2002 11:30 PM

exactly!! Creed ROCKS, just the way they are!! :band: :chic:

TeriB19 11-06-2002 11:34 PM

Ok is the dancing chicken suppose to be Scott or is the smilie with the mic suppose to be Scott? Because the dancing chicken bears a striking resemblance to Brett with his new Samurai 'do dancing around the stage.

Bridge of Clay 11-07-2002 10:50 AM

yeah!
and anyway, Scott was playing background guitar too... I mean, at least he was, when the tour began... is he still playing it?

allison 11-07-2002 11:53 AM

Hmmmm, I don't really think so.

JenRN 11-07-2002 01:29 PM

Creed is just great the way they are!!! Actually in early February when I saw them in Washington DC there were a couple of songs Brett ruined with his bass playing it sounded terrible!! Scott even had a real pissed off look on his face during that song, I don't know if Brett was still in his Virgos mode or what, seeing they played right before Creed came out! well I guess Tantric came on right before Creed, Virgos was first! But I do have to say Brett has fixed the problem, he sounds much more compatible with Mark than he was at first. Hey.... It is hard to meet up to Mark's talents!!! Don't you agree?

Creed18 11-07-2002 01:52 PM

They are just great the way they are. Why mess with something that is amazingly great. They already have the best and most distinct guitar sounds right now. Every other band's guitar is just blah. Tremonti is a genius. He doesn't even need a bass player. I love him!!:D

i'm just now getting to this thread and i'm not taking the time to read everybodys stuff. but when i see a thread that says "creed needs another guitarist" i gotta say somethin. tremonti is the best guitarist out there and he does not need any help. he takes the place of three guitars with his sound. thats one of the many things that makes his soooo awesome. i mean...its not like he doesn't dub over stuff in the studio. so the sound is the same as 2 guitars. and it doesn't sound any different in concert....if anything, BETTER!! TREMONTI ROCKS!!!!!!!

ROCK ON GUITARISTS!!!!:dancing:

Wylde-Tremonti 11-09-2002 02:22 PM

YEAH!!! Marks busts out like 3 guitars!!! and besides...any guitarist that plays w/ mark has to be truly special and utterly talented...just to even come close to mark's unbelievabel ability!!!! ...and where are u gonna find one of those....prolly in his own band makin billions of dollers.....

Thats why Stapp is learning to play guitar

Wylde-Tremonti 11-09-2002 06:59 PM

...yeah...but it takes a long time to be able to play AND sing at the same time.....and i don't kno if stapp'll be gettin there anytime soon......

Aimee 11-09-2002 07:52 PM

I think I know where this thread is headed...
Do you have your resume and demo tape ready Stephen;)

Tamawig 11-10-2002 12:47 AM

2ND GUITAR

Adding a new member to the band would be a bad idea, but having another guitarist is a great idea. if Scott gets good enough he and mark could do some serious damage on stage.

Bella Espanol 11-17-2002 11:54 PM

I think adding another guitarist would complicate things. They have this bond thing going on and I think it is a perfect circle just the way it is. Anyway it is hard to improve on perfection. I don't think they should change a thing.

What Do You Mean Demo Tape Or Resume

DangerousDan85 11-18-2002 11:51 PM

if it aint broke don't fix it.

franrn 11-20-2002 02:31 PM

I don't think that Bret is the man for the JOB, I can't stand the way he dances w/guitar in hand. Needs lessons dancing and playing. What's with his hair?? He does nothing for me...

ROCK ON and ON

hotforscott 11-20-2002 02:59 PM

creed doesn't need to change one bit.

DangerousDan85 11-20-2002 06:00 PM

his hair and dancing bothers me too

marlsy 11-20-2002 11:53 PM

Honestly I don't think he really matches with the rest of them either, but oh well, he sounds good and the boys like him so I guess thats all that matters!!:P

You know what Fran, I used to feel the same way. I had a hard time accepting him because he just didn't look the way I thought he should for the band. But the longer he played with them, the more he sorta grew on me. Plus, they really need a bassist, he's a good bassist and after all this time, they are really playing well together. Besides, I think it would be really insulting to have kept him on all this time just to dump him after this tour because they wanted someone else. (but you're right, the Samurai 'do must go)

JenRN 11-21-2002 09:18 AM

I know when I first saw them on the Weathered tour in Feb, I thought Brett ruined their sound! There were a couple of Creed songs I thought really sounded bad with his bass playing, but after awhile and the last show I seen them at he was much better!!! I have seen him play with his band Virgos and I think he was still in that mode in Feb!!! But I definatley agree about the hair??? He needs to keep it short!!!!!

Markluva28 11-24-2002 08:53 PM

I agree Creed doesnt need another guitar player, MARK is da best and he is sexy guitar player!!!!!

creedfaner 11-24-2002 08:56 PM

Brett's hair is sorta weird...it makes him look Chinese or something.

and yes, his dancing is sorta..............odd.
