Ty on Oprah....

Hey, did any of you see Ty on Oprah. Y'know, Ty from trading spaces! And they had that picture up of him in his boxers shaving. Wasn't that awesome!??? Now, we just need to get Scott to do the same, and Dallas. Then I'll have it made! :stapp: :wow: :naughty: :peacelove :luv: :pant:

No offense, but Trading Spaces is gay.

CDG - I love trading spaces - I actually hate most of the rooms they make but I like learning about how they do stuff - and Ty is very talented in making things which is interesting.

I did see that Oprah too (it was a rerun so others may have seen in previously) and I had no idea that he was the JCrew guy before! That picture was awesome. For those of us who went to the Chicago concert - we already saw Scott like that - half naked - practically foaming at the mouth - OH OK RELAX PEOPLE _ that was a low blow but I have seen him half naked! Ty is very cute anyhow. AND I loved that basement they did on that Oprah

Is Trading Spaces like a renovation programme?

yes - they get two couples who switch houses and each team gets a designer and a $1000 budget to redo one room in the house - so they have no input into what happens to the room in their own house - and sometimes these designers are wacky and do yucky rooms.

Oooh, I like those programmes. We have heaps of those over here, you can't watch too many or they all start getting boring after awhile. My favourite one is Mitre 10 Dream Home, it's a little different, it starts off as a competition where hundreds of hopeful New Zealanders all go into this competition to make the best mailbox, there are 2 winners, and those 2 winners get chosen to create their dream home over a period of 8-9 weeks. They end up being next door neighbours, and they create their homes next door to each other. At the end, they each have an auction, whoever wins, get's their house for free.

It's really interesting, what they design is amazing, beautiful houses, it's a pretty cool programme, but it's only on once a year, lol.

 how do they have an auction... and then whoever wins.. get5s it free???... an auction is where whoever pays the most... but then they get it for free... ???????????????????? does anyone see something wrong w/ that besides me?????

hayley 01-11-2004 06:26 PM

Oh...sorry...forgot to mention. It's not just the 2 of the sides auctioning, (sp) there are others there aswell, the public who would like to buy the house. So they bid money, as does the people who have made their home, the people who made their home have a certian amount of money, and the public obviously do aswell, so they just keep on going. To see who wins you know.

Each house has an auction at a different time, so they aren't auctioning against each other.

Hope that makes sense

Wylde-Tremonti 01-11-2004 06:42 PM

yeah that's a lil better

JulieCitySlicker 01-11-2004 07:55 PM

I like Trading Spaces :D but some of the stuff people come up with  :wtf:

Mulletman 01-11-2004 10:44 PM

i dont know who Ty is or what Trading Spaces is, so yea and Oprah is the devil.

She wont have Dave on her show, so she's a bitch.

They actually filmed a segment last summer in the development across from ours. They try to pretend that the houses are next door to each other but these 2 houses were a few streets away. One did the kids bedroom, which turned out beautifully. The other did a dining room. The designer LOVED black and did the whole dining room black. It was awful. The wife who owned the black dining room said on camera, "We're calling the painter in the morning!" It was pretty funny. They were NOT happy. Drew lots of crowds in our neighborhoods.
