Music Recommendations?

Ok, I'm getting kinda bored with my current music selection. I've been listening to bands like Audioslave, Shinedown, and Dark New Day lately and now I'm starting to get tired of listening to the same stuff every day. Yesterday I found my Boston CD and been playing that mixed in with some other stuff and it's a nice change for me :) Can anyone recommend anything I can listen to? You can recommend anything, but something less modern would be better. Any bands similar to Boston? Any good Zeppelin songs? Give me some suggestions...

Ooooohhh, Zeppelin... Get albums I-IV, Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti....I love all of them and there isn't a song I skip on any of them.

Hmm, other less modern stuff that I enjoy: Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, early stuff.

You might like Toto as well. They did that song Hold the Line (love isn't always on time).

Well, all of Zep rocks. I think I've got all their songs (certainly studio albums). Pretty glorious, indeed. Some other big ones: The Who also, you might try sort of the interconnected family of British blues-rock bands from the '60s: Clapton, Cream, Blind Faith, Derek & the Dominos, John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers. there's also The Yardbirds while we're on British rock, The Rolling Stones are pretty solid, definitely can't go wrong there. same for the Beatles. and you may not have heard of The Guess Who (Lenny Kravitz covered perhaps their biggest song, American Woman, a few years back). But they've got other good'uns. I'm also a fan of prog-rock. Rush is always a titillating experience. Lately, I've been listening to a fair amount of Emerson Lake & Palmer and Peter Gabriel (he was also a part of Genesis, so you could also try that). Gosh, this is so ridiculous. I've barely touched the tip of the iceberg of my music collection. if you're looking for Southern Rock, you may try, in addition to Skynyrd, the Allmans, and 38 Special, Ozark Mountain Daredevils (they're pretty big around here, as they're from this Springfield), Molly Hatchet, and the Marshall Tucker Band. any other genres in which you might be interested. Celtic? (Enya/Clannad, among others) Scandinavian Experimental Rock? (Sigur Rós) Christian hardcore? (Demon Hunter). Oy, that's a wee bit to get you started.

Not old school, but I love Soilwork and there's this band out of Canada called Mervyn Albins, my kid and I LOVE them!! Still have to make a copy and send to Dogstar...actually did that already, just need to wait for a thingy from e-bay, then I can send it and other things to her...If you want to here Mervyn, just go to Myspace and check them out, I think they ROCK!!

i highly recommend an australian band by the name of "motor ace" who sadly just played their last show here in melbourne. :( they made it big here with some radio singles but i highly doubt anyone outside australia (and possibly nz) has ever heard of them. they sound something like a cross between u2, oasis and coldplay. if you sound anything like those three bands you are doing something very right. :)

Anything from Pink Floyd - The division bell, or A momentry Lapse of reason.
If your too lazy to do that then get
Coming back to life, lost for words, or learning to fly. Actuallu just get them all.

Anything from Rammstein - Rosenrot or Reise Reise / Mutter.
If your to lazy to get entire albums then get.
Stein Um Stein, Wo bist du, Reise Reise, Hilf Mir, Sonne, Amour, Halleluja.
Actually every single song they have is good, every song but Stripped, that song does not exist.

At the moment, my play list has 80 songs, 40 or so pink floyd 40 or so rammstein and 2 creed songs.

i like the most recent album but sadly its the last they will ever make. :( it sounds like a soundtrack to some sort of sad romantic drama but in a good way.
