For those American Idol fans here, or at least those who know of the name William Hung (the most famous American Idol reject of all 3 seasons, and refered to by Simon Cowell as "the worst singer in the world"), you probably know he had recieved a recording contract, has a CD coming out soon, and has now made a music video.

i feel bad for the guy, b/c he's horrible, and people only "like" him b/c they want something to laugh at. and he seems oblivious to it all, which makes it even worse.

I read in our paper today in the music section that his CD debuted in the top 20! Isn't that stupid?! I think it is. I wouldn't waste my money on a worthless guy that can't sing! :mad:

Yeah, it has a small article about it, but it's true.

That's exactly what I thought when I found out he had recieved $25,000 for a recording contract.

Tell me who's the gullible one. The millions paying to hear and see him because they "like" him, or the one riding the wave and becoming rich?

I think someone stated that he's worthless, and of course he's not, but I don't even understand why people watch American Idol to began with.

Now, even if Hung only gets 15 minutes of fame he's still going to make a good enough amount of money while there are bands out there who write their own songs, play their own instruments, etc. and are toiling in bars and clubs. It's quite ridiculous don't ya think? :(

but i sincerely doubt he was the one who pitched the idea to whomever. my guess is, some moron in the recording industry thought 'we could make millions off this guy!' i'm still standing by my belief that he's not quite aware of the fact that he's sorta being used, that people aren't quite being sincere to him.

I will agree that American Idol is crap, though. I don't even like the kind of music they sing on there... it's all stupid shit. Now, if they had a similar show for real bands, that'd be pretty cool.

LOL. I remember that. :D During the first season it was Tamika and one other guy Derek. He was so bad. I don't even know what he sang, but he swore he was going to make it big. He then went out and sang for people on the street, and they laughed at him and told him how much he sucked.

Oh, I agree. He definitely didn't pitch the idea that they could make millions off of his singing. I just think by now, even if he didn't understand in the beginning, he understands what it's all about.

In a recent Rolling Stone interview with him (shortly after recieving his contract), he said "OK, so I'm not famous for the right reasons, I'm infamous, a joke. It doesn't make me feel good, because I'm a gunuine person, but I don't let it get to be because I am who I am. I'm always going to be just me."

well, it's good to know he doesn't let it get to him. that'd be terrible if he had all this sadness, etc. deep down inside and he was suicidal and all... happy on the outside but torn up on the inside

If you have seen him in interviews, he acts like he is taking it all very seriously. (All the more power to him) The scary thing is - is that people actually went out and bought his album. I just don't get it :dunno:

American Idol is awful this year. I don't think any of the finalist are that good. They all destroyed Elton John's songs a few weeks ago. This week is Barry Manilow week.
