Re: regis and kelly review
It was an OK performance. Did they do a shortened version of the song? Because if I'm not mistaking, the song is lyrically longer.
|
Re: regis and kelly review
yep, it was shorter, probably due to the co-hosts trying to get that prop to work. That took up extra time, so they cut off some of the song. I remember Ringo Starr wouldn't go on a show cause they shortened the timeslot available for his song. So he didn't play. Anyway, Rain was nice to see performed. :)

Re: regis and kelly review
it was okay, I think coming off the tour his voice isn't rested yet, Scott didn't seem able to hit the marks right. Oh well, just glad to see them again, atleast this time they were inside. :)

Re: regis and kelly review
Eric "Erock" Freidman, he's the rythm guitarist.

Re: regis and kelly review
"he was having an off-day......"
"his voice wasn't rested....." i love creed and think stapp sounds fine on studio recordings, but stop making excuses for the fact that it's LITERALLY painful to hear him sing live. |

Agreed, unfortunately. Don't know if it's the cigarettes or what, but I feel bad for him. It didn't used to be that way. His live performances from 6+ years ago were usually spot on in tune. He used to take steroids for problems he was having with his voice box, don't know if he's still doing that or not. HOWEVER, I think it sounded extra bad, not by any fault of his, but because of the setup Regis and Kelly have for bands. That show is known to make bands sound worse than they normally might sound live. Their studio is not appropriately set up at all to handle an actual band. As far as song choice, I think they might have fared much better had they done their acoustic version of Overcome with EROCK handling all the high notes. But you know they're going to push Rain in all of their TV appearances because it appeals to a larger audience, at least the studio recording does... |

No You Tube clips of this?

Re: regis and kelly review
You know, I watched it again, and it wasn't as bad as the first time I watched it. I must say, ERock isn't given enough credit for what he brings to the band. He is definitely an asset - good for him.

Of Course his voice sounds fine in the studio. It's called editing. |

I think to say it is painful to hear him sing is a bit harsh. I just watched it on youtube, and no, the performance really wasn't all that good. However, the excuse of his voice not being rested is a legitimate excuse. They just came off a grueling summer tour, for us. Yes, after seeing them in Atlanta, I could definitely tell that they were tired in Birmingham. Of course they're tired! They're all tired - not just Stapp. But i didn't enjoy it any less. They have such an awesome stage presence, and Stapp seems genuinely grateful to fans these days. They put so much effort into their concerts. Also the pyro kicks ass, and that can't be cheap. Anyway, we shouldn't go to a concert to hear them sound perfect. We should go to a concert to hear them live...mistakes and all. To love Creed is to love all four members, together...perfect or not. |

100% agreed. My wife and I went out back of the venue by the buses with about a dozen other fans after the show. Stapp actually got off the bus to come greet us by the fence and sign autographs (which was frikin awesome!) Afterward, some people there were saying that he never did anything like that 6 years ago. He did seem truly thankful, especially during the concert when we could see his facial expressions up close since we were by the stage. |

people say that but it's change in voice perfect example on the best of cd. The DVD has a live version of Higher and Weathered both on the roof at the MTV awards about 2-3 years apart. Exact same conditions yet he sounds different on Weathered then Higher why? people's voices change |
