70's music (a genre generally referred to as "album rock") is fucking awesome! I've got a shitload of songs from this time period on my computer (some groups extending into the '80s, '90s, and '00s, of course)... AC/DC, Aerosmith, Journey, REO Speedwagon, Boston, Foreigner, Guns N' Roses, Led Zep, Skynyrd, Styx... that's just a handful of the stuff.... Also got me a turntable down here @ school to play some of my parents' old 33's.... "Good motherfuckin' choice, motherfucker!".... Can't beat classic rock!

archie bunker 01-25-2004 04:17 PM

I grew up on 70s rock, so I'm a big fan. Good to see that younger people enjoy it, too! Some of my faves: Floyd, Zeppelin, Springsteen, AC/DC, Queen, Elton John, Black Sabbath, Yes...the list goes on...

WeatheredWoman 01-25-2004 07:58 PM

...Uriah Heep, Iron Butterfly, Ten Years After, Cheap Trick, Van Halen, The Grateful Dead, Ted Nugent, Thin Lizzy, Bob Seger, Canned Heat...

It's fucking awesome!!! I really started listening to it in the past year or so, but over Christmas break, while at home, I listened to the 2 Classic Rock stations in town b/c the Alt-Rock station I usually listen to fired 2 immensely popular afternoon hosts, and the station was dull w/o them.

I think it shows the staying power of such good music that it's still on the radio. Makes me wonder who of today's bands will be played on the radio 20 years from now :D.

SCOTTSMYMAN 01-25-2004 11:17 PM

Well, I grew up listening to Kiss! My first major crush was at 5 to Paul Stanley which later changed to Gene Simmons after I realized what his tongue could do! :naughty: hehe

Anyways, Floyd is awesome and Zeppelin well, you know what I mean. The Doors , Jim Morrison always find away to bringing me too new planes of exsitence! May sound weird but I just really feel their music! Aerosmith, AC/DC , The Beatles all of them! The music just isn't the same today!

HoundDog 01-26-2004 12:32 AM

Creedance Clearwater, Rod Stewart, The Beatles

Sincirr 01-26-2004 10:02 AM

So true! And now they'd introduced this band The Darkness as a real 70s rockband... The good old hardrock should've come back with The Darkness!

I was very curious about their music... They already had the looks but that music... :yikes: NOOOOOOOO!!!! :( :( :( They don't even come close... In my opinion!

hayley 01-26-2004 04:59 PM

I love classic rock. I was your typical 70's kid. Grew up listening to Fleetwood Mac, Skynard, Zeppelin and all of the above. I love it, still listen to it all the time.

Oh I remember Fleetwood Mac! Awesome!
I liked some of the stuff I grew up on. Zep, Sabbath, Deep Purple etc, and my mums stuff which was a little lighter, Cat Stevens, Gerry Rafferty! Good stuff!

Hey, who is that in your avie? I am guessing its the bass player from 3DD, but i am a little thick. lol

WeatheredWoman 01-28-2004 04:09 PM

Yeahhh... Fleetwood Mac is another all time favorite!! :D
Oh man I'm gettin' in the mood here on this board. Concertreviews, 70s-Rock-Revival etc. I have to wait 'til June for the Arrow Rock Festival! On the 11, 12 and 13 June! I also posted this in another thread but it belongs here... just love the line-up sofar:

-Iron Butterfly
-Judas Priest
-Scorpions
-HEART
-Porcupine Tree
-YES
-Alice Cooper
-David Bowie
-Blue Oyster Cult
-Queensryche
-Bad Company's Paul Rodgers
-Motorhead
-UFO

This is awesome... can't wait! And there gonna be more bands for sure!
They've tried to get AC/DC, Aerosmith and KISS... but Alas! They had other things to do on those dates :(

Although the line-up sofar isn't that bad!!!

RMadd 01-28-2004 04:11 PM
