New Staind album in the works

y there, I know it's been a long time since I've written anything but lately I've been really busy working on this new record. We go into the studio today to start tracking the new stuff. I'm really excited about where we are, I think the new stuff is sounding really good and can't wait for it to be done so everyone can hear it. We've been practicing now for about almost 2 months and have about a dozen songs or so right now but some other ideas that we've also been working on. David Bottrill (Tool amongst others my edit) is producing this time . He's been up the last couple of weeks working with us and that's been a really good experience. Everyone's pretty excited to get started. If all goes well we should have this out this fall so hopefully soon you'll have a new record to check out.
In the mean time, Aaron's had some solo acoustic gigs that have been going really well. He just played in reno and we got to check him out at the Mohegan Sun Casino here in Connecticut a few weeks back. He's got one more show in Vegas right before the 4th of July so check it out if you can.

Staind has some dates that we'll be doing towards the end of July. We go out for just over a week and end that little run with the Rolling Rock Town Fair. That should be cool, we played in it 2 years ago and it was awesome. They always seem to put together great line ups. This year we'll be playing with Sevendust, Disturbed, Hoobastank, Finch, Three Days Grace and a few other bands that I can't remember now. Speaking of Three Days Grace we did that tour of Canada with them and Nickelback and they were really cool. and obviously we toured all last fall with Sevendust and those guys always rock - we're excited. Should be a great show. Not sure yet who's doing the other dates in July with us but when we know you'll know.

We'll I've been meaning to write something now for weeks but have been just so busy working on songs, I'm glad I finally got to do it. I'll make sure to keep stuff updated now throughout the recording process to let you know how we're doing. We'll be video taping a lot of stuff and taking some pictures that we'll make sure we get up on the site asap so stay tuned for some new news (finally). that's cool, I like Staind, and Aaron Lewis is a pretty good singer

Staind make either songs that rocks or songs that sucks! :D It's pretty much 50-50.

I don't mind Staind too much at all, they give props to the bands that came before them such as AIC and PJ which is to be commended. They come out with stuff quickly though.

I only like their first album.

I like all 4 of their cd's. Thanks for the info on the upcoming one.

I hope their new album is going to be awesome. I have to say, I did like 13 Shades of Grey. :)

when was Shades of Grey released??? I felt it was like last year or sumthin! I guess I'm lost in time!

okay thanks for that! so if it is out by the end of the year that is less than 2 years between albums. is it too soon or do they have so much energy that it will be their best album?

You're welcome. :) IMO, I don't think it is too soon. Staind is a band that can pull off releasing one cd right after another. Not many bands can do that because people would get tired of hearing them. It seems to me that Staind gets better with each cd they put out so you never know, this could be their best one yet.

i enjoyed 14 shades but i would like them to go a little heavier and for mike to solo a bit more. some more acoustic stuff from aaron would be also be very cool.
