the QOTSA guitarist (the one that looks like a nazi) LOL slagged off Creed saying he just doesn't want a breakup but a death. But yeah their music is preddy good and certainly something different. I'ld get their record just for Grohl's drumming (songs for the deaf).

LMAO, there are so many haters out there, but I still love QOTSA. I got into them because Dave Grohl was on Songs For The Deaf. Hide, definitely pick it up, it rocks. I liked it so much that I got their other albums as well. Really good stuff! Today's lineup: Temple of the Dog Alice In Chains -- Unplugged Tantric 12 Stones Pearl Jam -- Binaural |
Socialburn:dancing:

A Perfect Circle -- Thirteenth Step

Dogstar what do you think of Binuaral? Its by far my least fav PJ album but compared to what is out there currently it still is preddy good. People tell me that Rated R is better then Songs for the Deaf. I would buy songs for the deaf simply for dave grohl and i might like it.
anyhow cds in my stereo Tool-Lateralus Creed-Human Clay Pearl Jam-Live Perth 2003 (official boot) |
I'm listening to my fave christian band:angel:
|
I know lots of people don't like Binaural that much, but I love it. It has really gotten in my head. I love Nothing As It Seems, and man, was that song kick-ass trippy live!!! Other faves on that one are Insignificance, Grievance, Thin Air and Sleight of Hand. And you're right, compared to what the labels are shoving down our throats these days, it beats a lot of stuff. I have been playing Binaural a ton lately (along with Vitalogy, my very fave PJ album). Rated R is really, really good, and it definitely is right up there with Songs for the Deaf. I think you would like it :D. I love them both, but I just got Rated R, so I have been playing that one a lot, hehe. Good, good stuff!
Right now, I'm listening to Chevelle -- Point #1. I believe this was their first album and it sounds very Tool-like. |
A comp CD that my boss made me with some different bands such as:
Defaced, Beyond the Embrace, Dark Tranquility, Bessech, and Disciple. :D |
Hey, Carrie, don't know those bands...What are they like, music-wise?
I have Pearl Jam -- Yield |
so Julie who's your fav christian band? Third Day is easily no.1 for me. Dogstar seems like your almost as big as PJ fan as me you should join me at http://forums.pearljam.com. Creed is not their fav band but if there are more of us who love both some may change. NAIS is much better live for me but Light Years off that album is PJ's best song period probably followed by Long Road.
|
LOL, hide...I have enough trouble keeping up with the Creed and Jerry Cantrell boards (major, major AIC fan, in case you haven't noticed). I've thought about going over there, but man, as I said, I can't keep up as it is. Light Years is awesome, too. I also love Parting Ways...something about the vibe in that song...can't quite put my finger on it, but I love it.
|
Parting Ways is very good a Stone stone I think, have you ever hear the demo version of light years? Come on I need support they all know me as a Creed fan I need numbers. LOL

Tantric is a really great band !! |
Heh, I hear ya, hide. It's even worse at the Cantrell board. Talk about bashing, but there are a few of us Creed/Jerry fans, not many...I get bashed regularly for liking Creed, but I don't care...I'll think about joining the PJ bb :D...Maybe I can improve my typing and time management skills...Not sure if Parting Ways is a Stone song, but it is a very good one, indeed.
|
cool if your too busy don't worry too much but i'm sure you'll enjoy your time there. does dogstar have anything to do with totd? It doesn't really make that much sense, AIC, PJ, Creed its similar sorts of music in an indivudual way if you like one you should like them all.
|
Tantric is okay I group them in with Seven Mary Three and Our Lady Peace. Good bands though all of them but no Tantric cds in the stores I visit.

Do you mean does my board name have anything to do with TOTD? If so, no, I picked it because it's the nickname for the star Sirius in the constellation Canis major (greater dog :D). I just thought it was a cool name for a star :D. |
okay cool i was just wondering how you come up with the name.

No prob. I've got Mad Season spinning on the portable now...Ahhhh, that soulful voice of Layne T. Staley (R.I.P.) |
he does have a very soulful voice i'm listening to some mad season on the net at the moment. do you prefer the softer vocal delivery in mad season or the louder stuff in aic? i think i'll go listen to some euphoria morning then maybe some live Creed.
|
OOOOOOhhh, it's so hard to choose, hide. I guess it depends on my mood. I mean, you have to love his wailing/screaming in Love, Hate, Love, or Junkhead, Dam That River, Rooster...the list goes on...But man, if Wake Up doesn't bring me to tears sometimes, along with Long Gone Day or River of Deceit. He was just one talented singer, that's for sure.
And I LOVE Euphoria Morning. It's a shame that CD didn't do better. Cornell's another one. Just a flat-out awesome voice. I'm listening to The Mars Volta (again :D) |
Radiohead -- Hail to the Thief...Punch Up at a Wedding is on...It's my favorite song on this CD.
