I've closed the doors
And fought the wars
My pain, my anger
It sings like yours
I've built the wall
Still standing tall
Ive beaten you
But still I fall

I've been shot down
The arrow flew too true
I've fallen from the sky
But I can't give in to you

I lost the greater cause
I've slammed into the earth
But from my ashes rise
The phoenix's flaming birth

I came from the ashes
And danced in the sun
My body and the flames
Our spirits are one
You lit the torch
With a single arrow I fell
But now Im brighter than the sun
And hotter than the depths of hell

In my flesh the arrow head stays
I dormant reminder of the ways
You shot me down and and broke my wings
But now this Bird of fire sings
To be a reminder before your eyes
That you can't bring me down
No matter how true the arrow flies
