When your eyes are open
Do you happen to see
All that’s going on
Around you and me
Some things are different
Yet stay the same
The past won’t erase
By changing your name

Does the sun warm your face
As mem’ries transport
To a long, lost place
Where life just felt right
Where you only had fun
Never having to feel
You were under the gun
