Eletronic Tuners for guitar

ok, this will sound dumb... but I bought a tuner so I could tune my guitar... I did it... but my question is how to use it to tune it Open D, for example?

D-A-D-A-D-D ?

Since the tuner is set to standard tuning... and there's that thing that goes right and left of the center to show if it's correct...

Just wondering. Glad if you can help! Thanks!

That's the same problem I'm having too. I tried tuning my guitar the other day and I couldn't figure it out.

if its standard all you can do is tune it to standard, but, what i would do is tune on string, and tune the other strings to that one. i usually do the 4 string and tune all other strings to it, ya know?

can you pick what note you want to tune... if you can... pick D ... and stune the ones that need to be ....the High E will Go Down... and the B will Go Up... the low D Down...G to the A.... you go Up..
i would suggest to try and learn how to tune by ear... it'd be better in the long run...
