Inamorata

Alrighty...my sophomore effort. I started this one a couple of nights ago & just finished it. You'll start to notice from A LOT of my poems that I love the one word titles with neat words. :D

"Inamorata"

The most fragile of all flowers
As the lily among the thorns
Careful is she not to wilt in this world
In her sweet little serenity

Still yet it scars her core...

Inside an hourglass glance of moonlight
Our lives seem minute as to the speck of a star
To flicker in our moment
To fade out when it’s gone

But daughter of blossoms
Refuses to never falter
Nor brush off all the briars
That settle upon our hopeful hearts

I wish I could see her
See the way she shines into those eyes
I wish I could be there
Fill a vacancy where I’m left hollow inside

Keep in touch over at the "Faith/Religion" forum. I think I'll start putting up some of my religious poems over there.
