Holy Battery

the world is so silent
the sky is still blue and the grass is still green
but still nothing is what it seems
never have I been so fearless
never so directionless

what have I learned?
I don't want to be the bleeding purity
I don't want to be the innocent victim
I don't want to catch all the bullets
and fade to black for a life of hate

what have I learned from all the storms?
what is worth fighting for?
I've lost the feeling in my heart
so will I ever know love
or is it forever gone

I've followed what's right
but there is no answer
so don't put a halo on me
I don't want to be a holy battery
heaven is dead in me
