Working W/ Goneblind....

Does anyone know what GB thinks about working w/ Stapp? Have they been interviewed or anything? Their guitarist is definitely no Tremonti, but nonetheless I was impressed.

Creed7352 11-15-2005 06:12 PM

well, i don't think goneblind has been interviewed about this at all...*insert sarcasm* it's scott stapp solo, not scott stapp with goneblind. *exit sarcasm*

my guess would be that they're happy...but that will change with time i think.

IamFilthy 11-15-2005 06:20 PM

I disagree,...they should feel privledged to work with rock's leading vocalist.......(no sarcasm detected)

Creed7352 11-15-2005 06:41 PM

that's not what i meant...i was taking a jab at stapp cause him and his "followers" say "this is stapp solo..." all the time.

and i'm sure they're quite happy that they're working with him. i think that will change with time because the lure of money will wear off and they'll not want to put up with his antics anymore.

my thoughts. you don't have to agree. i'm just explaining what i meant above.

ETA: and he's not rock's leading vocalist.

*cough* leading *cough* rock *cough* vocalist?

Umm... he was NEVER a leading rock vocalist, much less now when his fanbase barely even knows he exists, and his voice is shot.

Maybe someday we will say the same about you, after you have sold 30 million records.

I have read that after 10 years with their record label they were let go. I get it that its Stapp's solo record. But I bet that the guys in goneblind are extremely happy to still be making music. I actually like the music I'm hearing. Quite refreshing to hear different musicians.

Creed7352 11-16-2005 02:49 AM

really? that sucks they were dropped like that!! and stapp wasn't the leading rock vocalist, but he was ONE of them.

IamFilthy 11-16-2005 07:42 AM

In my eyes, he LED the world's biggest rock band,....hence, he was rock's leading vocalist. To be the frontman of a band selling millions of records more than any other band would definitely put you at the front of the pack. Vocal range aside,...he captivated us all.

yes he was.

He was a part of the most successful rock band in the world.
and if you hear what Creed fans said was oh I love Scott's voice.
I got into Creed because of Scott's voice and lyrics.

etc etc
I got into creed because of the powerful vocals of Scott Stapp but also loved the music and started playing guitar just to play Creed songs because I love them so much

uncertaindrumer 11-16-2005 09:32 AM

Meh. Not gonna start a big argument about Stapp on the Stapp boards. But just because they were big doesn't mean he was all amazing and all that. I am not gonna even mention Britney, Ashlee, etc. etc.

umm....LOL no!

led zeppelin, the beatles, eric clapton, jimi hendrix, the doors...i could go on, were waaaaayyyyy more successful than creed. you're letting your adoration for creed get in the way. creed was my favorite band for nearly 10 years, and even i can admit they weren't the biggest rock band in the world.

IamFilthy 11-16-2005 12:10 PM

at that time, they were.

Creed7352 11-16-2005 12:20 PM

zeppelin still is...the beatles still are...hendrix still is...stevie ray vaughan still is...the eagles still are...pearl jam still is...incubus probably still is (i don't know their numbers, but they're damn popular and successful)...
