Can somebody explain what Alter Brisge songs are about because I don't really get it...

What do you mean?

A song is how you interpret it. A song could have a meaning to you, but a complete different meaning to someone else.

Many of them are about overcoming adversity in one form or another...renewal, rebirth, etc.

Maybe not so original, but simple and effective.
