It's a sad thing...
I'm to very disappointed in the Alter Bridge cd. Comparing to creed, alter bridge is bullshit... :mad1: It seems to me, that the guys from alter bridge are doing just everything to make more and more money... this whole alter bridge project is so comercial as hell... The soul of the music and spirit of the words are gone in alter bridge... :mad1:
Yesterday I saw the OYE video and for me it was a parody of rock music, in fact the whole alter bridge cd, except few songs, is a parody of rock music... Although Tremmonti guitars still rock, but when Myles starts to sing, I'll better shut my ears... Myles as vocalist is just normal, he isn't extraordinary as Stapp and he never will be... thats the sadest thing of all... P.S My apologies to them, who think different... |

So you're saying Creed didn't become commercial music when they were forced to think of song lenghts and what radios the song would play before writing? ok...

hey thats your opinion man
my opinion- AB album is right up there with the Creed Albums as favorites of mine, Stapp had one vocal style and Myles another. Myles has an incredible range, one that isnt really mactched in Rock Music. The Bass and Drum lines in these songs are really good, and i Love the diversity of sounds, from some 70's and 80's sounds, to bluesy/jazzy sounds, to some modern and grunge and some metal sounds. And Marks guitar playing, oh yeah!!!! All those little riffs and nice solos. Just an overall great album. but thats just my opinion and you are entitled to your own. have a great day all. |

Well, of course Alter Bridge dosen't sound like Creed, they're two different bands, and don't say AB didn't tell you!! I'm a bit more of the metal-head, and I'm glad they've gone into the heavier side, AB rocks man!! I love the Alter Bridge-video, and I have to say Myles is AT LEAST as good as Stapp. In fact, I don't miss Stapp at all. But I will always love and support him. Quote:

some questions
i'm just wondering does alter bridge also (like Creed) have some "special" message from their music and lyrics? Personally I don't see (hear) the MESSAGE, thats why I think that this AB project is all about making money...
To me it seems like they are just trying (!!!) to "rock" without any filosophical or some kind of psicho-emotional background. They are just bunch of guys, who play this "copy and paste" rock music. Creed was original, alter bridge is a bad copy of creed. And how can we say that AB is entirely different band from creed, if the 75% procent band members are ex-creed??? |
I wonder if One Day Remains was released as a Creed album with Scott Stapp doing the vocals if we would even be having this discussion. I thik that if you truly enjoy the music you will find meaning in it. Do you mean the psuedo-Christian imagery that is apparent throughout Creed's lyrics? If so I think it is still there in Alter Bridge read over the lyrics a couple times you'll see it.
As for the Alter Bridge sounds like Creed with a different singer argument; I think it is pretty much right on. As much as people keep going Alter bridge is a different band it isn't. The guys whom make up the instrumental sound of Creed and Alter Bridge are the same. Yes overall it is a harder album but don't you think eventually Creed would have evolved eventually to something that sounded like this. I do and maybe that is why I see the similarity more. The guitar work is Mark, the drums are Scott and the bass is Brian. And as much as people want to say that they sound different you can't deny the signatures. Give the album a couple more listens, turn up the volume and I think you will get used to it more and enjoy it. It took me a little bit (about 4 or 5 listens off VH1.com before it came out in stores) to get used to Myles voice but now I think it is my favorite album of the year. |

You could try a spell-check before posting. I't would make your post seem like it actually has an argument, or logic, or some sort of rationality behind it. |

Sounds like someone has their jockies in a bunch ;)

You know what? It isn't disappointing or sad that the AB album is the way it is, it's sad and extremely disappointing that all everyone can do is try to punch each other in the throat b/c of the difference or the simularities btwn AB and Creed. I won't post my opinion, but this common low dirt grudge arguing is accomplishing nothing but what Steve has tried to keep off of this board. Where is the respect? And where is the acceptance that no matter how much you argue AB is selling their album now, Creed sold their albums, and that fact isn't changing?

AGREED!!!! It's stupid to post a thread you know people will ONLY fight over!!

HaHa I Know it :D

seemed like, by Weathered's release, Creed had become commercialistic (maybe not to the extent that other bands were, but still far more than MOP).... now, maybe I'm just being naïve, but I seriously view AB as a way for Mark to finally let loose on his guitar skills. so what if the lyrics are still religious? in this day and age, it's just that lyrics about partying, getting high, and girls won't always do the job. and he was just writing what he felt. so, evil wizzer, give it a rest. don't get upset just b/c creed broke up and, more importantly, don't take it out on us. |

Sorry man, I just miss Creed. AB is not bad, but Creed still was better... |
So why did you say AB is just about making money, when they're making the music they really want to and say "This is just about the fun". PLUS, these guys are so freaking rich they wouldn't have to work for the rest of their lives now, but they love what they're doing and their fans and will always do!!

You are so naive... Hopeless naive... Everything is about angels... |

Angels? I like the CD up there with the Creed CDs. I think all the songs have a message of some sort even if it isn't religious. They don't all have to have an underlying religious message. They will then fall in the same trap Creed did of saying they are Christian rock, so they better keep the Christian/religious messages to a minimum. However, I like the religious messages. Out of all the music out there today, the songs that seem to hook me the right way are those type songs because they are so passionate sounding not like rap dribble and bubblegum pop "oh I love you baby." I think they should have a few and it will spice up the music, but don't overload the CD with those type messages. |

I love Creed, and I always will, they will forever be my favourite band, and I am still gutted that they have broken up. But, there is nothing we can do about it, so I am just enjoying Alter Bridge. They are a great band with fantastic songs. This may sound strange, but Creed and Alter Bridge are two very different bands. Even though there is the core of Flip, Tremo, and Marshall, everything now sounds very different, and it's hard to compare them to Creed because they are two very different types of rock. I'm sorry that you don't like One Day Remains, you really are missing out on a brilliant band, and a brilliant album. |

Read the signature, Lith. I was AB2004 at AlterBridgeRocks, remember me? I joined this forum a long time ago but never activated my account. But since Steve is closing that forum, I had to find out why I wasn't able to post here so I asked Steve, he looked up my name here, and said I never activated my account, so here I am. BTW, I'm 16 from a small hick town in Virginia. :D |

AS far as the comparison, well there is no comparison to me. They are both geat in thier own sense. To me Creed is top of my list, it is and always will be my favorite. Creed is comforting to me, lifts my mood, makes me smile. That to me is worth tons...... Alterbridge rocks, I love the music and love the new cd, it is kick ass! I can't wait to see them in concert. But the combo of Stapp with Tremonti to me was just magical, I am not sure if anything will replace that for me anyways. They have moved on to other things and I accept that, but that does not change my love for Creed as a band. I will continue to follow both bands, great things will come from them all. :)
