the top 5 albums you own?

what are the best 5 albums you own? you can use any criteria you like (what you listen to the most, how influential it was etc) i'm not even going to try to order them but this is my top 5 (atm). all of these are fairly recent albums because this is what i identify with and grew up on for the most part.

jeff buckley-grace such a beautiful album and the word of mouth about this album is still very strong to this day, if not more so than when it came out. has some fantastic covers (hallujuah the most famous one) and shows a fantastic voice at its best. don't know about anyone else but it also gets me in the mood.....;) LOL

a perfect circle-mer de noms started as a "side project" for tool singer maynard james keenan but this is one heck of an album in its own right. its moody, its powerful and its just a fantastic album. i could listen to "3 libras" all day long.

radiohead-ok computer i'm not really a fan of radiohead's really "wanky" stuff but ok computer had the perfect blend of "the bends" era radiohead and later stuff like kid a and hail to the thief. its my fav album album for putting on quietly and going off to sleep to.

oasis- whats the story (morning glory)? this album defines britan during this period of time. this album is like an episode of seinfeld, its not really about much but its brillant all the same. just one great song after another like "wonderwall", "cast no shadow" and "champagne supernova".

metallica- self titled (black album) before they made the AWFUL st.anger metallica were the greatest metal band on earth. some see this album as the beginning of the end but i think this was their high point, it was more radio friendly but it wasen't re-load quite yet.

honourable mentions
u2 joshua tree- u2 have being copied by just about every band since and i really like this album. its a classic because there is one great song after another such as "with or without you."
live-throwing copper- their later stuff isn't nearly as good but this album was the perfect blend of aggressive yet radio-friendly rock with spirtual lyrics (in the vein of u2 actually). this album reguarly gets a spin from me.....
pearl jam-vs i would normally list pj as my fav band but they have many very good albums, rather than one amazing album in my view. this one is great and its very aggressive. ITS MYYY BLOOOOOODDDDDD......
tool-aenima its progressive rock but its more metallica than pink floyd (unlike lateralus) and this album just plain rocks. songs like :"eulogy" are just masterpieces....

Re: the top 5 albums you own?

golly, this is a tricky one... i think i'll divide them between "old school" (basically, anything pre-1990s, maybe '80s) and modern, since I think I judge them slightly differently.

Old School
+ Led Zeppelin ~ Led Zeppelin IV (aka Zoso)
+ The Who ~ Who's Next
+ Led Zeppelin ~ Led Zeppelin I
+ Jeff Beck ~ Blow by Blow
+ U2 ~ The Joshua Tree

Modern
+ P.O.D. ~ Satellite
+ The Mayfield Four ~ Second Skin
+
Jimmy Eat World ~ Futures
+
Jars of Clay ~ Jars of Clay
+ Chevelle ~ This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)

Oy, these are both rather incomplete.... I'll see if I can do better with a lot longer to think about it....
