hotforscott 12-07-2002 09:34 AM

the wild thornberry's.....................saturday morning cartoons.
hey, i can't complain, atleast it's not barney.

Dogstar 12-07-2002 12:24 PM

LOL....I'm listening to Audioslave -- Exploder

hotforscott 12-07-2002 12:27 PM

we have 63 Barney tapes and i am sooooooo tired of barney.
he can go camping, go to school, the doctor, the dentist, whatever he wants if he just leaves me out of it. lol. btw, most of the tapes were gifts, at 10 bucks a pop, i onlybought about 5 of them. lol.

Dogstar 12-07-2002 12:29 PM

Wow, I didn't know there were that many Barney tapes! You have my sympathies. I remember watching him a lot at my sister's when her boys were young. Ugh. I was more a Sesame Street fan myself.

hotforscott 12-07-2002 12:32 PM

we have so many, there are some duplicates, and it's funny to see how much he has changed over the tapes. some of the first ones, he was dark purple and talked weird and baby bop and bj were the same height as barney, and now they are half his size and he is more pinkish. some of the tapes were made in 89, when he first came out so it's really weird to watch them and see how he's changed.

Dogstar 12-07-2002 12:35 PM

Wow, the many lives of Barney. That's trippy that he's pink now. I wonder if that had anything to do with the all hoopla about the purple teletubby controversy.

i don't know, it's just he is more of a fuscia, dark pink kind of color, then purple.

can't stand the teletubbies. i had 2 of those tapes someone gave us, and they were quickly given to someone else. i mean, that one drove me nuts.

i really like Bear in the Big Blue House, he's pretty cool and doesn't drive me up the wall.

probably because we only have 1 of his tapes. lol

Dogstar 12-07-2002 12:40 PM

I thought the teletubbies were sinister-looking. Something about them really bothered me. They were just off or something. Creeped me out.

hotforscott 12-07-2002 12:53 PM

lol, i know they are kind of creepy. like a nuch of adults trying to act like babies. gives me the heebie jeebies (sp?)

TeriB19 12-07-2002 01:15 PM

Y'all know I have to throw my 2 cents in. Barney was downright bizarre in the old days, his head was more square and he just scared me. The teletubbies are pure evil. They really don't teach kids anything except to speak like a baby. Sesame Street is great but I think my kids are beginning to get away from that in favor of Rugrats, Wild Thornberry's and Clifford. Which is fine with me as long as they don't want to watch the Butt Ugly Martians (yes that really is a show!)

I know, mine are big on CLifford as well. And Dora the explorer. I saw the Butt ugly martians, there is no way they are watching that. Barney was very scary in the old days.

Dogstar 12-07-2002 02:44 PM

The new song by John Maher. Don't know the name of it.

hotforscott 12-08-2002 10:14 AM

ooooh, he has a new one, they overplayed the other one. it was catchy at first, but then it got old.

TeriB19 12-08-2002 10:25 AM

Your Body is a Wonderland. That's it.

hotforscott 12-08-2002 10:46 AM

that is the name of the song?

TeriB19 12-08-2002 10:48 AM

Yes, that's it. It's catchy. He's very mellow, I like him. He was on Leno the other night and lipsynched another song that I didn't recognize but whatever it was, I liked that one too.

hotforscott 12-08-2002 10:49 AM

i will have to check that one out, sounds like an interesting title.

Is that who sings that song? I love that song! I guess I have been too wrapped up in Creed to pay attention. I have heard that on the radio and wondered who sang that. It's a GREAT song. I can't beleive I was that lost as much as you guys post about OLP. I guess I never put 2 and 2 together.
