Creed Symbols

I know I've asked this before, but I still didn't get the answer I was looking for, can someone tell me what what the Creed crest stands for and their other symbols. We are getting tattoo's Saturday and I wanted to know the meanings. Thanks.

The "crest"? Depends on who you ask. But one version I have been told, is it is a Cherokee symbol for "warrior". (I have heard the Celtics claim it also, but they say it stands for "tree of life", "unity") All I know foresure is, that it is a tribal symbol. And tribal symbols can have various meanings to various tribes. So.....depends on who you ask. :P What does it mean to the men of Creed? Your guess is as good as mine, as they keep it close to their chests.

The swirl you can see TRU wear from time to time, is actually a tribal symbol from NZ. To the men of Creed, it stands for the four orginal members...TRU, Scott, Scottie, and Brian.

Man, those guys should just tell everyone what the crest stands for! A few other boards that I lurk at are still talking about it too.

This one Creed board at bandrags: http://www.bandrags.com/board has a whole post with over 400 pages dedicated to talking about the crest and trying to find out it's secret meaning. I gotta admit, I read some posts and it's amazing what hey found.

Debs4Creed 01-11-2003 10:03 PM

The official meaning of the crest has NEVER been stated by the band I know many have done some searching on there own including me I personally took the approach of the similarity to many peices of indian jewelry called "sandcast" I sent pictures of similar jewelry as well as the crest and the crest belt buckle to the person that runs the cherokee nation website he stated to me that that basic design of sandcast has no official meaning it is simply art for the sake of art and he went on to say that to him the design looked more celtic in origin than it did Indian

Okay, I know I'm late on this one......CONGRATS on the tatoo. I don't know if anyone knows what the crest actually means. But if you really look at it....it looks like two hearts joined together. So maybe it simply means "love for one another" something mushy like that.

SJack5802 01-13-2003 06:57 PM

I was one the site above the other day also. Very interesting stuff indeed. I never knew all the hidden stuff before . THat helped out.
