Broken Wings Video Being Shot Right Now!

Alter Bridge is on the West Coast right now filming the video for their 3rd single, Broken Wings. The director is Dean Karr who did the Open Your Eyes video.

One of the actor's from the TV show CSI(Paul Guilfoyle) will appear in this video. It is very different from what these guys have done in the past as either Alter Bridge or Creed. It will be very dark and moody with almost a Twilight Zone theme to it.

There is no set date on when this video will come out in the United States because it depends on how long Find The Real stays on the charts. Overseas, however, is a different story. You Europeans will probably see this video before anyone in the states does.

Sounds cool. Thanks for the update, Michael. Any word on when it'll be available for download (either from the site or a p2p)?

Very cool, Michael, and thanks for the news! You Europeans are lucky, getting it all first :D

Or import a new single from online at least. It would be cool to have the video on it plus a new b-side!!!! :D

Agent D 12-13-2004 05:02 PM

Michael, everyone probably already knows this but me, why wasn't there a video for Find the Real?

Gabriel 12-13-2004 06:32 PM

It was purely a timing issue Agent D. This was the first break of more than two days that anyone has had since the Open Your Eyes video was shot. There was only time to shoot one video befroe our Xmas break and since Sony Europe needed a video to promote the band ASAP we decided to go with Broken Wings. Plus when Broken Wings comes out in the states it will get a much wider release that Find the Real so it made sense to do that. Did I just make any sense?

alterite 12-13-2004 06:55 PM

Find the real should have a video, It will make the song be more heard of than just the radio. Broken wings is a really good song and that needs a video is well, maybe they will do a video next year for Find the real?? :D

No. Don't get greedy. :D

Bridge of Clay 12-13-2004 07:58 PM

makes sense, Michael... but I still would like to see Mark playing that song note by note! I hope the cameras don't spoil it on Leno! :)

btw, do you happen to know if Brazil is in the list for 2005 gigs?

You made perfect sense, thanks for clearing that up, Michael.

XenoN 12-13-2004 09:30 PM

Michael,

Thanks for the deal about why there is no vid for Find the Real. I didn't recall seeing a definite explanation for why that was. Excellent to hear about Broken Wings.

titan9 12-13-2004 09:53 PM

Sounds awesome. I'm definitely looking forward to the video.:D

tremonti4life04 12-14-2004 12:13 AM

You know, ive been requesting the turds out of find the real, and i havent heard a radio station around here play it yet, and that is one of my favorite songs on the album, well, one of 11 of my favorite songs on the album. I would love to see a video for One Day Remains. I heard them doing it in the sound check at the pittsburgh show while i was standing outside, and now that song just brings back a lot of memories, really powerful song, makes you think about self betterment too!

aussiecreeder 12-14-2004 12:24 AM

thanks a lot for the info michael and i think broken wings should do very well as a single. just a quick question if possible....can we expect a physical single (as in one we can buy from the shops) for broken wings and if so will it feature any b-sides? is there a reason why save me rather than an unheard b-side made the daredevil 2 soundtrack? once again thanks....:)

Chase 12-14-2004 12:39 AM

That's great news! I think a video for "Find the Real" would've been cool... however, the "Broken Wings" video sounds like it's going to be amazing. I foresee "Broken Wings" doing very well on the charts due to it's durability in both the rock scene and pop scene. Thanks for the update Michael!

Is ILM still going to be released? I hope not. DTML is a way better song. It has hit written all over it.

ILM reeeeeeally should be released. If AB want to make a reputation worldwide, then they must go for this song. It will with no doubt have a WAWO-effect on them! We're talking about x platinum records sold!
BTW...Broken Wings sucks! It's not catchy and\or special and will not sell much! I can promise all of you that! ;)

BW looks to be more promising, otherwise they would have questioned it as a single like what has happened to ILM. DTML kicks ILM's ass.

aussiecreeder 12-14-2004 11:00 PM

i think broken wings is a great choice although down to my last probably also would do very well. oh and marcos you'll have to forgive hayley, sheep's brains are rather small! ;)

titan9 12-14-2004 11:18 PM

I agree, BW is an excellent choice in my opinion. I think it's gonna be the single that establishes them as the best Rock act currently out there.

AndrewFromABRox 12-15-2004 09:01 AM

Exactly, WAWO effect is BAD is my opiion. Thats what made creed look like sissys on rock radio, you notice how thats the CReed songf that is always made fun of? I think its good for the CD but a realease is a mistake, even though we know it will be a single afyter broken wings. I honestly dont know why they would release the 2 slowest songs on the album, i mean what image are they tryng to get? A Radio Host guy played Find the Real last time and here is what he said afterwards " Thats Find the real by...Alter bridge. And that song...acually rocks a litte, im one of those people that wasnt ver impressed with the first single, and by our listeners survey you werent either, but thats pretty good so go vote on it, good job Alter Bridge!" See when they release Broken wings and ILM it wont get good rock radio play, Here anyway, Open your eyes didnt do very well, it was on the playlist for mayeb 2 weeks then its gone, idk i know mark said because the next album wont have ballads they want to release these but i ask are you trying to get Pop crossover succes or are you trying to Rock out man!

p.s. sorry for the simi-rant there.

XenoN 12-15-2004 03:17 PM

lol yeah I remember Dave Grohl's version of WAWO on the radio... ROFL! I think I still have a rip of it...

Grohl's a bastard.

XenoN 12-15-2004 03:55 PM

Now why do you say that? lol

Agent D 12-15-2004 04:29 PM

Haha no reason...

Trees of Wisdom 12-15-2004 06:52 PM

WAWO is a corny-ass title and the lyrics were corny as well. ILM is a deep song, but my point is that it's not good enough to be a huge hit. It needs a bigger sound. And it's way too soft of a song. Since it will only be on pop radio, it won't do that well because it has to compete with the likes of Ashley Simpson and the whole rap genre. At least BW and DTML are better and can be on rock and pop radio.

Agent D 12-15-2004 09:02 PM

No sense bitching about it now. The band has made their decision and we have to trust in their instincts. Besides, airplay and all that crap doesn't matter. They're writing great music, we're getting to hear that music, and that's all that matters.

titan9 12-16-2004 10:49 AM

Actually, I think if ILM gets released to the radio, or even DTML, it'll be huge on Pop radio. Every year Pop radio finds 2 or 3 Rock songs and plays them non-stop for a while. I think AB would do great on Pop radio with those songs.....but of course we'd be hearing more of the Creed comparison because they'd be doing exactly what Creed did:dominating Pop radio as a Rock band. So I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not, but I'll support AB just the same.

Xterminator27 12-16-2004 02:56 PM

WAWO is my most creed song of them all,

In fact if i never heard that song, i would have never bought the creed CD and would have never heard any other creed / AB and would probly be listening to shitty blink182 now.

But ILM really does suck, Watch your words is such a cool song, in fact every other song is such a cool song. besides ILM, What about One day remains? Thats the CDs title song for sake, and it Rules so much

titan9 12-16-2004 03:15 PM

Yeah, I love the message behind One Day Remains, too. And it's such an energetic song, it'd be awesome if it were released as a single.

I love ILM, too, so I'd be equally happy if that got released as a single.

It looks like Alter Bridge are releasing the more poppy songs for music videos and the harder songs are just on radio. I still think FTR should have had a video for it.

titan9 12-17-2004 02:06 PM

I agree, FTR should have had a video. But I understand why it didn't(lack of time) At least BW is getting a video and I think that song will be a big hit.

Um, with the time they're using for the BW video, they could have just made a FTR video. A BW video would be released anyway after FTR.
