Alterbridge on Spider-Man 2 Soundtrack?

Folks...this is only a POSSIBILITY, so don't get your hopes up.

Alterbridge on Spider-Man 2 Soundtrack?

Sounds good to me. If Wind-Up were smart, they would get a single on a big movie soundtrack this summer to get the band known before releasing an album in the late summer/ early fall.

Now...this is a possibility since the band is hurrying to get a single finished and Wind-Up is not shy of movie soundtracks. This strategy has worked wonders for bands in the past.

Some possible movie soundtracks:

Spider-Man 2 (the first had an awesome soundtrack with lots of different rock groups)
The Chronicles of Riddick
The Bourne Supremacy
I, Robot

This is definitely a great idea that I'm sure Wind-Up has pondered, but we shall soon find out.

Let me know what you think.

I think its a great idea!

Michael did say that they were going to use the remainder of the 15 songs they're planning on recording as b-sides or for soundtracks.

But releasing a song for the Spiderman 2 soundtrack as a single would be a great idea.

Trees of Wisdom 05-09-2004 04:42 PM

The album will be out June 22th, so Alterbridge better hurry if they want a song to be on the soundtrack.

Trees of Wisdom 05-09-2004 04:44 PM

The problem is that Columbia will be distributing the album and not Wind-Up. If a band from Wind-Up is on a soundtrack it's usually distributed by Wind-Up.

True, at least thus far. Great idea though! It would be a super way to get their name out there. Of course, us Creed fans will/have done that already. :D

benkenobi 05-09-2004 06:03 PM

By the way, you didn't hear this rumored somewhere else did you? This is just your idea right?

aussiecreeder 05-09-2004 08:04 PM

this is a very good idea, would be a great place to put one of the leftover tracks. to get their name out there it would have to be a single and two of the singles are decided already for the spider-man 2 soundtrack. perhaps one of the later soundtracks would be possible.

Agent D 05-09-2004 08:51 PM

Yeah, I've heard a lot of rumors about the Spidey 2 soundtrack but none of them mentioned Alter Bridge. It'd be nice if they do get a song on there, since I need a reason to buy it. It sounds pretty crappy so far. :(

Billboard doesn't confirm you post so far:

Train, Dashboard Rock For 'Spider-Man 2'

Train and Dashboard Confessional have penned new tracks that will serve as simultaneous singles from "Music From and Inspired by Spider-Man 2," Billboard.com has learned. Videos are also expected to be shot in support of Train's "Ordinary" and Dashboard's "Vindicated." The album is due June 22 via Columbia; the highly anticipated film, starring Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst, arrives June 30 at U.S. theaters.

Other artists that have contributed previously unreleased songs to the album include the Ataris, Jet, Hoobastank and Yellowcard. Tracks by Smile Empty Soul, Midtown, Lostprophets and Taking Back Sunday will also be found on the soundtrack.

The original "Spider-Man" soundtrack boasted the rock radio smash "Hero" by Nickelback's Chad Kroeger featuring Saliva's Josey Scott, which hit No. 1 on Billboard's Modern and Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

That album also featured Aerosmith covering the "Spider-Man" theme plus a mix of new and previously released tracks from Alien Ant Farm, Pete Yorn, Macy Gray and the Strokes.

Those are some pretty shitty tracks. Do we need so many re-recordings and remixes?

Dogstar 05-09-2004 10:07 PM

I agree...what a crummy lineup.

Yeah...a remix of Never Again. How can they ruin such a great song like that? And those lyrics don't fit in with this movie in any way at all. :mad1:

I'll believe it when there's a release of the songs. I am starting to not believe a thing lpshinoda says because of his thread about Creed performing at Woodstock '05.
