Scott's Solo CD ~ More Information

Thanks to PBF for finding this article first.

I almost hesitated to start this thread. There has been so much negativity about Scott on this board over the past week. I really don't understand why. He has come out holding his head up high with a wonderful new song.

And FYI - Scott begins to shoot the video for Relearn Love on Tuesday.

Anyway---From Rollingstone.com

Creed Members Move On

Stapp, Tremonti begin next projects

Since Creed announced its split in June, members of the band are wasting little time launching new projects. Former frontman Scott Stapp is readying his solo venture while guitarist Mark Tremonti recruited bandmates Scott Phillips and Brian Marshall, along with Mayfield Four singer Myles Kennedy, to form the band Alter Bridge, whose debut album One Day Remains, will be released August 10th.

Songs appearing on the album include the first single, "Open Your Eyes," and "Down to My Last," featuring Tremonti's trademark guitar onslaught.

"It's half about thanking the fans -- and half about the critics," Tremonti says. "They actually helped our career, because they kept us hungry to prove them wrong."

Alter Bridge will embark on a U.S. fall tour in support of One Day Remains beginning September 23rd in Pontiac, Michigan.

Coincidentally, August 10th also marks the arrival of Stapp's solo debut with his single "Relearn Love," from the CD compilation to the film The Passion of the Christ, due August 31st. The song features the Canadian rock trio the Tea Party as his backing band, who met Stapp while co-headlining a tour with Creed in 1997.

"He's definitely a very intense soul," Tea Party lead singer Jeff Martin says of Stapp. "He's got a good heart, so I was curious when he gave us a call and said that we were always his favorite band and he wanted us to come down and try out a song with him."

The Tea Party will head to Miami in September to co-write Stapp's album, which is slated for an early 2005 release.

"Scott Stapp and the Tea Party is going to be all over MTV, all over rock radio," Martin says. "It's going to be a number one song for a gazillion weeks in a row."

thanks for posting.........so the tea party will be co-writing his entire album? i thought that was possible and a good decision from the two parties. stapp gets musical input from a very good band while the tea party get much needed exposure. christmas release?

Dogstar 08-07-2004 01:54 PM

I got to get me some Tea Party. Thanks for the info, Shadow! I'm glad there has been some news about it. I was starting to wonder whether it really was going to happen!

Yeah, I was actually thinking he might just skip over the solo stuff and join another band.

I'm glad he's got the Tea Party behind him. The guys of Creed (now the core of Alter Bridge) are good in their own right, but The Tea have so much more 'feel' to their music, I think. It's not just crunchy guitars and soft interludes, but it dips into valleys, and rises to peaks...their music is awesome, and with their collaboration with Scott, it will make his new album even better.

Thank you so much for the info Shadow! Very exciting indeed! Can't wait to see the video... :)

Sheila63 08-07-2004 07:31 PM

Thanks for the info, Robyn. :) I can't wait to see the video either!!

Creed_Defaultgirl 08-07-2004 07:41 PM

Robyn, please don't hesitate to post stuff about Scott! I think Scott should get just as much attention as Alter Bridge has gotten. Just remember that *some* people are immature and have to run down Scott on every post they find about him on here. Why hold down one to raise another????

I'd just like to say thanks to you again for EVERYTHING that you have put on this board, the news, the pictures, the support, everything. For some reason my Mom's user name won't sign out of Passion Breeds Followers, so I can't sign up. It makes it great for me and other Scott fans to post their oppinions on this board. It's nice to have other Scott fans on here, so I can talk about how great I think he is, as a person, a singer, a dad, a body  :pant: ....and I could go on! Thanks to ALL of you guys, love you!

About the music video........I wonder what it is going to be like? I am SSSSSOOOOOOO ready to see that man in a music video singing again! Oh that smile....And his long hair blowing in the wind.....AND THOSE EYES, AND THE PASSION.... Here I go again. :D

Very true! There are still a lot of Scott fans who want to hear all the news you have ... (even though we usually get criticized)! Thanks for the post!

Dogstar 08-07-2004 09:12 PM

Just because *some* of us don't like Scott's new song doesn't mean we don't still support him.

Actually, I think it is. It's not even officially released yet and it's being played. The official release date for radio is this Tuesday. I'm sure we'll have the video in a few weeks, and then the Leno appearance....all things seem to be looking up.
