Friends~ Red Hot Chili Peppers.

That was too easy Stef especially since that's like my all time favorite Chilli Pepper song.

Ok let's try this one:
I'm your door to door lover
I'm you cyclone pacifier
I'm your cheap trick honey
And baby's my bionic liar
I don't bleed cause the gasoline
That flows right though my veins
I'm a motor at heart
And if I don't start
I get pissed off just the same

Your high heeled river of love
Is drippin down your thighs
It seems like my lover's
Finally satisfied

WeatheredWoman 03-22-2004 06:25 PM

Hahaha I know Kris... I thought this will bring ya back in here! ;)

:hugs:

Isn't that Faster Pussycat? I've heard a few of their songs, but I must admit I have no idea the title of the song.

Yes, it is. Good guess. I wasn't sure if anyone would even get that. The song is called
~ Little Dove~

Higher_Desire 04-07-2004 01:44 AM

Try this. It's pretty easy. I love this song.

Gonna take a bit of a fall tonight
Dreaming I was underneath
A naked woman saying something
That I can't repeat.

Ah cool. I missed this reply somehow.

Higher_Desire 04-08-2004 01:37 AM

Yeah, ok. You're supposed to be solving the new lyric, so here it is again. It's easy.

Gonna take a bit of a fall tonight
Dreaming I was underneath
A naked woman saying something
That I can't repeat.

Yeeah. I love that song.

This one's a bit tougher... maybe.
When you're feelin' down and your resistance is low
Light another cigarette and let yourself go
This is your life
Don't play hard to get
It's a free world
All you have to do is fall in love

Queen - Play The Game

Should I fall out of love, my fire in the light
To chase a feather in the wind
Within the glow that weaves a cloak of delight
There moves a thread that has no end.

For many hours and days that pass ever soon
The tides have caused the flame to dim
At last the arm is straight, the hand to the loom
Is this to end or just begin?
All of my love, all of my love, All of my love to you.

SmilinSkullRing 04-15-2004 03:52 PM

All My Love - Led Zeppelin

You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly

Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain

hayley 04-23-2004 06:13 AM

Bob Dylan - Masters of War

I tried so hard just to get through to you
But your head's so far
from the realness of truth
Was it just a come on in the dark
Wasn't meant to last long
I think you've worn your welcome honey
I'll just see you along as I sing you this song

Time can pass slowly, things always change
Your day's been numbered
and I've read your last page
You was just a temporary lover
honey you ain't the first
Lots of others came before you woman
said but you been the worst
Sa' you been the worst

Higher_Desire 05-04-2004 06:16 PM

Has everyone just left this thread altogether or did we just get bored of doing it?

You Ain't The First - Guns n Roses

Now, when I was just a little boy,
Standin' to my Daddy's knee,
My poppa said, "Son, don't let the man get you
Do what he done to me."
'Cause he'll get you,
'Cause he'll get you now, now.

And I can remember the fourth of July,
Runnin' through the backwood, bare.
And I can still hear my old hound dog barkin',
Chasin' down a hoodoo there.
Chasin' down a hoodoo there.

WeatheredWoman 05-13-2004 08:45 PM

Wowww... I don't know the title for sure.. it's whether "Born on the Bayou" Or "Run through the Jungle" by my beloved Creedence Clearwater Revival!!!! Those two songs I always mix up LOL!!!

CCR is awesome

Ok I wanted to ask you something Smilin but I can put up some lyrics and your answer will be my confirmation (or not) ;) :

They say there's a light...
through darkness shines..
If two hands protect that light against the change of time...

...can have your gold and silver,
build your kingdoms high...
but It's just one of those things, baby
that money can't buy...

So I don't care where we go, baby
I don't care what we do...

I soooooooo love this song!!!!

SmilinSkullRing 05-14-2004 01:14 AM

Born On The Bayou would be right. CCR are amazing!

Are you going to ask me if I listen to Patti Scialfa? :D That song would be As Long as I (Can Be With You).

I prefer her solo than on stage with the E Street Band. Her voice just doesn't work with the music even if she is married to Bruce. :o

If you can play on the fiddle
How's about a British jig and reel?
Speaking King's English in quotation
As railhead towns feel the steel mills rust water froze
In the generation
Clear as winter ice
This is your paradise...

WeatheredWoman 05-14-2004 10:42 AM

Ha! Yes that was what I was going to ask you!!
I've got her cd Rumble Doll... She got a unique voice. I bought her cd because of As Long As I... it took some time to get used to the whole album, but now I love it

And my fav's of CCR... Proud Mary and Long as I can see the light!

Ok back to the Topic... your song was Straight to Hell by The Clash(Heather Nova did sing it too)

Next:

I'm sorry baby, but I can't afford to stay
Your good, kind treatment will worry me someday
I love you baby, but I'm gonna have to say goodbye
Woman, I got to move, I really got to fly...

SmilinSkullRing 05-14-2004 04:56 PM

Eric!!! Same Old Blues. :D

I'm glad you like Patti's album so much. I think it's alright myself. As I said I seriously think she sounds better on her own albums than with Bruce and The E Street Band because she just doesn't gel with them in my opinion. BTW, she has a new album coming out in June. :) In a way I'm very surprised to learn you like her album so much but don't listen to Bruce. ;)

I think my fave CCR song is Fortunate Son. I love them all but that song just says it all.

Feel when I dance with you,
We move like the sea.
You, you're all I want to know....

I can walk down the street, there's no one there
Though the pavements are one huge crowd.
I can drive down the road; my eyes don't see,
Though my mind wants to cry out loud....

WeatheredWoman 05-17-2004 04:42 PM

Eric and Crrrrrrrrrrrrrream!!! :D :D :D

:note: I feel freeee, I feel freeee, I feel freeeeee :note:

LOL!!

Yeah I do like her and I did like Bruce in my "younger" years... It all started with "The River".... *sigh* ;)

...Little girl, I wanna marry you... was even one of my all time favourites... I'm serious!! :smokin:

NEXT:

Just tell me you love me again
Say I知 your man
I値l do everything that I can
Oh baby cause you know
I知 a stand by my woman man

I don稚 think that you understand
I知 more than your friend
I知 standing here girl take my hand
Oh baby cause you know
I知 a stand by my woman man

:)

SmilinSkullRing 05-17-2004 11:46 PM

Los Lonely Boys with Dime Mi Amor. :)

Yes, Cream rock!!

Ah, that's awesome that you use to like Bruce. The River even! Rock on! :jam:

I Wanna Marry You is a pretty good song from Bruce, but he has so many that are better even. :D You should maybe try to rediscover his music. I could even send you a boot or two if you like. :D

Next:

....Arms held out like you've been carrying a load
And you swear to me you don't want to be my slave
But you're staring at me like I need to be saved....

Thorns and shroud like it's the coming of the Lord
And I swear to you that I would never feed you pain
But you're staring at me like I'm driving the nails

WeatheredWoman 05-18-2004 07:29 PM

Jesus Christ Pose - Ssssssoundgarden!!

Well actually when I heard I Wanna Marry You about 5 years ago I thought... wow.. how simple is this song LOL!! ;) But I liked it really really soooo much way back when...( must've been 20 years ago I think)

I still like The River though! That's a classic ofcourse... actually I started to get a little tired of Bruce since Born In The U.S.A., Dancing in the Dark... too poppy imo :o I like his pure music...

NEXT :

In the darkest hole,
you'd be well advised...
Not to plan my funeral before the body dies, yeah
Come the morning light,
it's a see through show...
What you may have heard and what you think you know, yeah

SmilinSkullRing 05-18-2004 07:55 PM

Grind - AIC

I Wanna Marry You is definitely one of his more simple songs, but so good nonetheless.

You should hear Dancing In The Dark live especially nowadays - it's all rock. Also BITUSA is such a great anti-war song that is great live. Although I've only heard the acoustic version live which brings the meaning across even better. Nothing since that cd is poppy. :D

As I said if you ever want a Bruce boot... ;)

Next:

Eminence Front by ehhhh... Who??? ;)

Thnx for the offer Smilin :) ... but can you send it all the way to Holland??? (yes.. Europe) :o

Well ok I believe you about that "not poppy anymore"-thing ...LOL!!
Maybe I'll give him a listen again... :)

NEXT:

So this ain't the end
I saw you again today
I Had to turn my heart away
You smile like the Sun
Kisses for everyone
And tales
it never fails...

You lying so low in the weeds
I Bet you gonna ambush me
You'd have me down, down, down, down on my knees...

SmilinSkullRing 05-18-2004 08:22 PM

Ahhh, Barracuda....Heart. :D That song isn't too bad.

Oh sure, I'm always sending overseas. I'll shoot you a pm. :)

That would be cool if you listened to him again. Of course I think that. :o

NEXT:

Well the little things you say and do
Make me want to be with you....

I know its got me reelin
When you say, I love you....

The way you dance and hold me tight
The way you kiss and say goodnight....

I know its got me reelin
When you say, I love you....

WeatheredWoman 05-18-2004 08:39 PM

Rave On... and I prefer John Cougar Mellencamp his version! :D

Ok I'll check my pm then :)
Oh and I have a weakness for HEART ...got 10 cd's of the sisters Wilson! :D

NEXT:

Look's like a blue, blue day
Only wish that I could say
That this is rain in my eyes...

I only wish I could find the words
To say just how I feel
To say just how I feel inside.
So please
listen close...

SmilinSkullRing 05-19-2004 04:51 PM

I love Buddy Holly's version, but if we are talking covers I prefer Bruce Springsteen's version. :D

I have to admit I don't know this song. You got me. ;)

Ahhh, I think I've heard that song. You should post another one. It's still your turn the way I see it. :)

Some of the ugliest things
took the longest time to make...
And some of the easiest habits
are the hardest one's to break...
And I'm not asking for value,
nor the pain but I am asking
For a way out of this lie...

Because I can't wait for you to catch up with me
And I can't live in the past and drown myself in memories

Welcome to nowhere
and finding out where it is...
And fixing your problems
and starting over again...
Your feeding your ego with what you can see outside
And your killing yourself for not speaking your mind

WeatheredWoman 05-25-2004 09:28 AM

Smilin??????

Would you stand back baby, 'cause I want to get a better look
The big man who couldn't handle the little bit of love you took...

Oooh, Bonnie Raitt....Have A Heart.

When people keep repeating
That you'll never fall in love
When everybody keeps retreating
But you can't seem to get enough

When everything feels all over
When everybody seems unkind

Take all the worry out of your mind

Finished with my woman 'cause she couldn't help me with my mind
people think I'm insane because I am frowning all the time
All day long I think of things but nothing seems to satisfy
Think I'll lose my mind if I don't find something to pacify

Can you help me occupy my brain?
Oh yeah

WeatheredWoman 07-01-2004 08:46 PM

No one really knew it was "Paranoid" by the one and only Black Sabbath???

LOL!!! :D

SmilinSkullRing 07-02-2004 02:05 AM

OOPS!! I forgot that you figured out mine! LOL That must of been one of the days my computer was running slow or I didn't have long on the internet. I would of answered that because that's easy. The Sab were my fave for about four years and they are still in my top ten. :)

I gave my life away

I was losing my mind
Starin' down the barrel of a gun,
It's just a matter of time...

Haha, luckily I stumbled by this thread. :D

Well, if you've been a married woman
And things didn't seem to work out
Divorce is the key to being loose and free
But you're gonna be talked about
Everybody knows that you loved once
They think you'll love again
You can't have a male friend
When you're a has-been

(took out 3 obvious lines)

You're some kind of gold
Even men turnin' silver try to make
But I think it's wrong
To judge every picture
If a cheap camera makes a mistake
