Alter Bridge tensions?

On the website Myles mentions how its hard for him to sing other people s lyrics and hwo he has to be an actor. Do you think he'll start writing his own soon?

Hmmmm very ineresting!

I dunno I've never even heard the guy sing or write songs so I really dunno.

But thanx for the info.

i think he is enjoying what he is doing and he said he talked with mark and got inside his head so that he could better catch the essence of marks emotion. But I am sure that when they start writing new stuff, they will definitely let him write lyrics, im sure they will all contribute.

I think Myles will definitely start writing his own songs soon. I also believe that if they let Myles contribute, their songs are going to be a lot more powerful. Alter Bridge has two great song writers so what more could you ask for? :D

Myles has been writing his own lyrics for a while, obviously, with his previous bands. With Alter Bridge, he came into the project after half the songs were done, so there wasn't really a need for him to write new lyrics. If there is a second album I imagine that he gets to write his own lyrics (not saying anything against Mark's lyrics - I just imagine it will be more comfortable for Myles to be singing his own!).

True.

The one thing that gets me, is 'In Loving Memory Of'. Myles will be singing this, yet it is about Marks mum, and these are Marks lyrics. I would have much rather seen Mark singing this whole song, with Myles doing the back up vocals. This is bascially Mark's song, like WAWO is Stapp's song, he sung that song. I know that Mark isn't the frontman, but it would have been nice to hear him sing the song, it would bring out the emotion more, make it more raw.

It will still defenitly be emotional, but more so if Mark would be the one singing it.

But other than that, I don't think Myles will have a problem with that. I did read that in the Q & A, but in his answer it didn't sound like he was very troubled by it.

I think with the next album Myles will do his fair share of songwriting. Myles will probably write at least 50% of the lyrics in the next album and quite a bit of the music as well. He is a good songwriter so that talent should be used.

Bridge of Clay 06-08-2004 09:52 PM

yep, but Mark and Michael, both loved the way Myles sing ILMO, it seems he puts a lot of emotion on it (as usual!).

myles was writing material for a solo album when he got the call so i guess either they will end up on the next album or myles will keep them for himself.

hayley 06-09-2004 07:26 PM

Hopefully he will share :D

aussiecreeder 06-09-2004 10:31 PM

I can see Mark doing his metal project inbetween AB albums and Myles doing a solo album then as well. We'll see.......

hayley 06-10-2004 12:26 AM

Ehh, I don't know about that one. If Alter Bridge become popular fast, he won't have much time.
