Scott Unleashes The Beast
by: Debbie Hawolwood

Rock legend Scott Stapp plans a world wide tour after his album comes out. He has nine tracks written so far for his follow up to the double platinum The Great Divide. He also hopes to work with Glen Ballard on some of them. He told me in a phone interview, that he hopes the album is out by Halloween, and his tour to start in November. Stapp said he has also been over a year sober and plans to give money to the local AA chapter he goes to daily. Stapp also is hoping to tour with the new Doors, one of his main influences

Thought so just making sure. I still don't really know how much The Great Divide sold though. I think gold but I've never really found out for sure.

Yeah, all the media reports I think go by items shipped now, which is fricken lame.

It was certified gold and platinum on 12/14/05, but never double-platinum. Search the RIAA for proof. http://www.riaa.com/gp/database/default.asp

Oh thanks. I think it shipped platinum and went gold.

Double platinum my arse. Psh.

I remember Gold distinctly. I never heard about it going any farther than that.

Every time I went into a CD shop, there were like fifteen copies of the album in there...no one was buying the thing.

So... if he's still writing music, that means it might be awhile 'til an actual album comes out & a world tour follows, correct? Like, at least 6 months, probably a year, maybe more?
