I hear what you are saying! I love Creed as a whole but Scott drew me in with his voice. When I first saw him I thought THAT voice is coming out of THERE! As much as I love Flip and Mark, SCOTT'S MY MAN!!!!!! Hence my name! His just a beautiful specimen of man and I can't help myself! :pant: :pant: :pant: |

That's SO funny to me because I thought the same thing!!! |
I think Scott's voice is great for him! I know you're not saying it's not, but take a look at Dallas Smith (my avatar, and Default's lead singer) He is like, a wimpy guy, and his voice completely doesn't match. He looks way too small to do what he does! LOL, Scott, I think he matches his voice quite well!

Yeah you wouldn't think somone like Stapp would have a voice so powerful, but I guess as the saying goes, "Don't judge a book by it's cover" :D

Yeah true, that's probably where the whole thing started :( |
i said this in a post a week or so ago, but even though they are both and all amazing talents, magic is created when they work together they fulfill and complete each other artistically, and seem to balance one another personally....
i loved your post, creedlvr, i feel very much the same. mark is truly a prodigy, and there is no doubt that any music he creates would utterly rock, but for me, that's all it would do without the deeper, more spiritual component in stapp's writing. on the flipside, without the phenominal "delicate force", as i call it, of mark's guitar, no one would take notice of the lyrics and the message. mark is caring and stable. he doesn't have to work as hard at life as scott. the same emotion that brings brilliance to stapp's performing and writing causes him to be volatile and fragile. more dimensions of his humanity come through in everything he does--good and bad. i would not change a thing about the men who built this band, their uniqueness makes CREED unique. i only hope that down the road, after some time and space, they can rediscover their bond and once more create music like no one else. |
Yeah

I'm not sure I agree with this. I mean, we don't really know how or what they do to survive life or how hard they have to work at it. I don't think emotion and volatility are exclusive to lyricists. There have been some pretty emotional guitar players/writers in the anals of rock. |
Although, I did agree to that, I see where you are coming from Dogstar. Mark did write alot of the lyrics. I think they are both very emotional writers.
|
I just think it's hard for fans to really judge how a rockstar really deals. We only see/hear a small piece of them through their music and concerts. And that is through a performance vein. I don't know...I'm just rambling, hehe.
