Scott - New Music Due August 24th
 

Mel Gibson is apparently releasing yet another 'Songs Inspired by the Passion of the Christ' CD. Julie, the Administrator at Passionbreedsfollowers.com, met a man (Mark Joseph) who is working with Mel Gibson on this album.

And, good news for us Scott Stapp fans, Mr. Joseph said Scott has written six songs for this CD, one which is titled "To Relearn Love." The album is due August 24th on Wind-up (barring any unforeseen problems).

Other artists mentioned to be included on this album - P.O.D. and Lauryn Hill.

hey why do you need to hear samples? i'll buy it without hearing a single note! it would be great to hear samples (and with Alter Bridge as well) but I don't need them to decide to make the purchase.

To Relearn Love!!! I hope, despite they've gone different ways, Mark and Scott are still friends. Michael said the last time they talked was over six months ago :(

I hope they are still friends too. They've been through so much together. I still believe that time heals all wounds and that one day they (Creed) will reconcile and be better then ever.


Frankie over at PBF did some searching and found out that the Passion DVD is set for an August release. Maybe the CD is being released in conjuction with the DVD.

I would hope that all of Scott's songs will make the CD, but if not, I know for sure we will get at least some new music. I can't wait. This I am excited about. :D

I knew they would do something with those songs Scott wrote for Mel Gibson. I bet this will be the same project that Ben Moody releases his solo songs he did for the movie, too. :)

This is cool news if it is indeed true. Maybe there was a lot of complaints about the album they decided to put out. But still, I agree with Trees, there are a hell of a lot of Passion albums out now.

Awesome!!! I can't wait to hear those new songs! I was so disappointed when the first time around, his songs didn't make it onto a Passion cd; this sure makes up for it! Sure hope this doesn't fall through.

i thought after the inspired by album didn't include the scott's and ben's stuff they would be included on their respesctive solo albums. scott must have a lot of material written.......

Is this other "Passions" album coming out right before the DVD or something? Is that why it's scheduled for August?

The DVD and CD will probably coincide with each other. When I get new information, I'll post it!

Isn't August 24th also the pending release date for Alterbridge's album?

sorry to be so late to reply, i don't usually get to the boards during the week cos of my work, but this is WONDERFUL NEWS!!! i was devastated not to hear those songs when the earlier project fell through.

i know this music will be incredible--right ftom the heart & soul!!! :D

lol i was thinking to myself, hey now that the alterbridge thing has broken and everyone is thinking about their cd at the end of summer, it wouldnt surprise me if scott releases some material around then to keep up with his band. haha, i guess this is the way to do it. I cant wait, i want to hear both stapp and alterbridge.

LOL its a competition, the projects were announced at the same time so you would expect them to be released around the same time although Scott hasen't entered the studio yet as far as we know.

Stapp got in studio before Alterbridge did. He recorded his tracks in Atlanta a while ago.

It was in the news a while ago that he was in Atlanta. It might have been back in January. I don't remember the exact dates.

His progress right now - He is working in Miami with a producer/recording engineer by the name of John D. Thomas. Scott is mentioned on this man's web-site. Here's the link John D. Thomas

thanks for that, i recall thomas now that you mention it. looking at the artists 7 has worked with fills me with anxiety i must admit. scott could easily make something fantastic out of it though. i'll keep the faith..... :)
