Creed hits the recording studio in January (& more news)

http://pub186.ezboard.com/fcreedpit62842fr...cID=31698.topic

A couple of Creedpitters went to the music store in Maryland for the Tremonti instore signing and they got a bunch of questions answered:

1. He last heard the DVD was suppose to come out in December, but he's not sure.

2. He's not working on a solo album yet, but he likes to keep busy so maybe sometime.

and hes not working on the solo album right now because:

3. Stapp is currently writing the new Creed album and they are scheduled to hit the recording studio in January.

Thanks to MDStapplover and Gatalove

Very kewl news!!!!!! Thanks!!!!!
Hey Jen-I read somewhere that Scott said it took them about 3 weeks to get Weathered put together becasue they just had so much to say lyrically & musically. I'm sure after this whirlwind of a year-things will flow pretty easy for them too!! Ya never know-maybe we'll see something in February!!! That would be nice!!!!!!!

I'm also happy! However, I really, really hope they spend ALL 6-7 months writting material and tweaking it. Weathered was done very quickly, but I really found it lacking in the depth department compared to the others.

Also, having Bret writing/performing bass (hopefully!) will provide some better-sounding low-freq vibes. Tremonti did it all in Weathered, and, while he's an incredible guitarist, the base just was not up to par in Weathered.

I also hope Brett's run with Virgos influences Creed just a little bit. Weathered crept a little too much into the "pop" category with a few tracks. I'd like to see something with the harder edge of MOP combined with the lyrical substance of MOP and HC.

AND... MORE AND LONGER TREMONTI SOLOS!!! GOOD GREIF! SHOWCASE HIS TALENTS A LITTLE MORE! 8^)

I can't wait for the new CD...I'm going
through Creed withdrawal...:(

crest tattoo 06-07-2003 06:32 PM

I started to post this too, my friend told me to check it out at the pit. I am really glad to hear it, but I'm glad I'm here at creedfeed. They're kinda mean over there at the pit.:kick:

Lechium 06-07-2003 06:33 PM

Most bands write IN studio bulk of the album (jam session, etc) 8+ months to write? Deep Purple's "Machine Head" (one with Lazy, Highway Star, Smoke On The Water, Pictures Or Home, etc) album was written and recorded in TWO WEEKS.
My verdict -- they're just being lazy.
When band takes 2+ years to release an album... oh come on... Led Zepp released like 7 in 6 years, and they all became classic. Same goes for many other bands.

crest tattoo 06-07-2003 07:36 PM

Your verdict on Creed? That means as much to me as the dog shit in my backyard.:horseshit

Well things that come from person who lives in shit (as you had just said yourself) are really of little weight in this world.

crest tattoo 06-07-2003 11:04 PM

I'll consider being called a "light weight" a compliment. Thank you lech, nicest thing I've ever seen you post.

Bridge of Clay 06-07-2003 11:19 PM

so what? Weathered was written in only 3 weeks... doh!

And it doesnīt mean they donīt have tunes from songs that didnīt make to weathered or their soundchecks...

Higher, for example, came up of nothing, when Stapp was helping to put the amps on stage...

I personally think that, with a longer time to think and write, Stapp will make great lyrics, as good as MOP and Faceless Man, for example. Now you just gotta add Markīs talent and Flipīs spice to make it better than perfect!

Btw, cloud 9 ???? thatīs new to me!

hayley 06-07-2003 11:23 PM

I've just read that, Luva, thanks so much for that awesome update, that's great news.

woops its already posted.
*ignore this* lol

theseeker018 06-08-2003 03:24 PM

i'm kinda hoping that they get into the studio by the fall or winter, but as velocityidp said it, maybe he'll take all the time he needs and write a really good album. i think weathered was a little rushed and that was reflected in the album.

Bridge of Clay 06-08-2003 03:43 PM

agreed ^

Yeah I have to agree there, a couple of months ago I was thinking that I wish they would hurry up and produce another album, but then I thought that I don't want it to be a bit rushed like Weathered was. The longer we wait, the better the album will be. I mean Weathered is an absolutley awesome album, but I think Creed can be more kick ass if they take their time.

Just my :2cents: there :P

crest tattoo 06-09-2003 09:41 AM

I agree. This addict needs a fix, but I'd rather have them 100 percent than half-assed.

JenRN 06-09-2003 10:10 AM

I agree with you all, lets not rush them!!! I would love a new album now BUT...... I want them to be healthy and to give it thier all!!!:D

creedgirl99 06-11-2003 05:13 PM

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for the info Luva!!!! :D

creedlvr 06-11-2003 05:34 PM

Those are my 2 favorites! I think they are both written extremely well. I just love the whole concept of both! :D

Human Prison82 06-11-2003 06:33 PM

I think it would be really cool of the band if they would just release a b-side album, including "Nothing" and maybe a few new covers. That would be enough of a fix for me to last until Sept. 2004.

Luva 06-11-2003 06:35 PM

Im not sure when or if we will ever hear "NOTHING" Stapp never went and recorded the vocals for it.

:

Bridge of Clay 06-11-2003 11:50 PM

About Nothing, Mark also stated it isnīt Creed at all, itīs different and darker.

Hmm, still pretty interesting!
