I just saw on Fox News Chicago, that in the Sun Times Paper tomorrow there is an article about how some fans in Chicago have filed a lawsuit against Creed for the concert they did here back in December. I'll post anything else I find out, if it hasnt been posted already.

I just had the same thought after reading that!! I can't believe it! :madder: |
$2 Million? Hahaha. Maybe if they sued for their $50 back it'd be fair. But how can they possibly make 2 million? Did Stapp in his drunken/drugged haze murder their first born?
I don't think this can be taken seriously at all. |
To quote Red Foreman, "DUMBASSES!"
Of course I like this one: "Eric, I thought I told you to wash up for dinner. I know! Its hard hearing me when your head is up your ass!" ________ How to roll a blunt |
that is just unfricking unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor guys............Stapp must really feel like an idiot now. I can't believe someone would actually sue, what assholes!!!!!!
|
Okay, here we go AGAIN!!!!!
Yes, it's true. I heard on the news this morning and on Mancow's morning madhouse that a class action suit has been filed in the circuit court here in Chicago. Not a lot of details tho, but I believe the suit is against Stapp personally and not the entire band. My question is why wait so long, the concert was in December, it's now APRIL!!!!!!!!! I was there for the performance back in December and it was not a pretty sight. It was like watching a friend go into total melt down and there was nothing I could do.....so I started praying. :crying: If I were doing a presentation for my job and I was so out of it and passed out and forgot what the heck I was talking about, would I have been fired? YES!!!!!! Doing concerts is a part of the bands job, perhaps they should have cancelled the concert, or maybe even did another one for free at a later date, I think that would have appeased all the fans who were soooooo upset. But those are the chances you take when going to a concert, you might not like the damn show. Same with going to a movie, gee whiz I wish I could sue the writer, producer and director for the movie "Charlie's Angels" and a couple of more movies that absolutely SUCKED!!! Again those are the chances you take. Again my question is, why did it take so long for someone to decided they wanted to sue????? Personally I'd forgotten all about the show, I've been busy with MY LIFE, that concert has not affected me one way or another, so why are these people broading over something that happened almost 5 months ago? This is absolutely insane. No, Stapp shouldn't have been drunk, over-medicated, upset.....whatever, but sometimes shit happens. |
America is sue happy. I'd like to kick everyone of those sue-happy people in the ass everytime they opened their mouth saying "sue" or "lawyer".
I'll repeat my last statement, DUMBASSES!!!! ________ Mflb review |

I know, I really feel bad for them, but especially Scott.:( I totally understand the fans being upset. I would have been too, then I would have been concerned because nothing like that has every happened before at one of their shows so, IMO, something pretty heavy must have been going one for it to have happened. I know some of will probably disagree but it's the way I feel. |
Unbelievable. I cannot even grasp this concept. I mean seriously. I am at a loss for words. Freakin' idiots man. I will just have to comment later.
|
I was searching to see if I could find more about the lawsuit on the internet. I could not as of yet, but I found several other things that popped up that were kind of interesting. This is a comment made by Scott when the whole Napster thing was going down. The other thing I found was the lawsuit from Brian which I will post in a sec.
Here is the Napster comment: "Everyone I know is excited about all the possibilities the Internet has to offer. As a musician, the Internet has made it possible for me to share my music with people that could have never been reached by conventional methods. It has been taboo for artists to speak out concerning the business side of their music. The fear has been that the buying public, as well as other artists, would perceive this concern as greed, and that the artists' sole purpose for creating was the money. This perception has silenced many artists concerning MP3 and Napster. The silence must end. As a child I created music to express my inner thoughts and feelings, and that purity has stayed with me throughout. The day I decided to share my music with the world, was the day I decided to walk the fine line between art and commerce. I have been blessed in that I do what I love and can support my family with what I create. When my music is given away, as taboo as it is for me to say, it is stealing. I need not defend my motives for making music, but the distribution of my music has made me business conscious. I have decided to sell my music to anyone who wants it, that is how I feed my family, just like a doctor, lawyer, judge, or teacher. Not to insult anyone's intelligence, but my music is like my home. Napster is sneaking in the back door and robbing me blind." -- Scott Stapp, lead singer/ lyricist for Creed |
Here is the Brian Deal. Notice the typo: Brian Stapp. LOL. Some people are morons.

GOOD site!!!:D Realy good! But I like the "band" sites more than the members sites....Anyway....Good site, rock out!:crest:
|
Really? I am a bigger fan of fan sites then official sites. They seem to be more in tune to the fans........LOL!
|
I can't believe that there are people who have the time and energy to waste on trying to sue Creed over that concert. I was there, and yes it was kinda disappointing....but oh well. It's over and done. I have a hard time believing that these people were ever real fans. I've even heard someone say that the Chicago concert ruined their life.....oh please! I drove 11 hours to get there, stood in the freezing line for 3 and guess what? It DIDN'T ruin my life...in fact I still love Creed! Imagine that!!! I just don't understand these people...there are so many other things in life that are more important than what happened that ONE night. I think all these people should get a life!!!
Okay...I'm done venting now :) |
This is UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
I was at that show...it wasn't Creeds best performance.. well..I mean Scotts best performance. But to sue for 2 million is outrageous!!! Maybe a refund or another show, But I've gotten over it because I KNOW they put on a good show any other time I've seen them...I'm not sure what happened with Scott that night, But I pray he's better now. The lawsuit took a long time according to the news because lawyers were actually doing their homework to see if they had a "case"...If they (the fans?) actually had GROUNDS to sue and i guess they did....? |
Its pathetic what some people will do for money:mad: I hope they don't get it:finger: They can take their money grubbing fingers and cram em way up their a:censored:
|
I agree with you Julie...
I was at the "show"...and I don't care... I don't want ANY $$$$...I want my band to be OK and come back stronger than ever!!!!! |
Don't ridiculous lawsuits get thrown out by the judge before anything ever happens anyway?
|
I hope the lawsuit does get tossed...
But you know how lawyers are so $ hungry!!!!! |
I'd like to meet the laywer who think you can sue a rock band for drinking before a show.
Have these people actually filed yet, or they are just trying to? |
I'm not too sure on that...
From the way the news puts it..It's going to happen.. But who knows with the "news" anymore!!! |
Maybe they are making it out to be more than it is. I can't believe anything so stupid would actually happen. Only to Creed...Any other band had too much too drink and no one would bat an eyelash.
|
if that is the defination of a fan, then who are we?
|
Ok, just went to the Chicago Sun Times website...
It says that 4 "fans" filed a lawsuit in the cook County Circuit Court wanting their price of tickets ($56.75 apiece plus parking fees). They are IN THE PROCESS of asking the judge to certify the suit as a "Class-Action lawsuit" so ALL concert goers could receive refunds and parking expenses bringing the total to 2 million... |
It will never happen.
I hope the judge laughs in their faces. |

You're so right! I remember someone posted here on the bb that they were at a concert where the band or a band member was actually drinking on stage. There wasn't anything in the news when that happened. |
Nothing will happen to the guys. Everything will be fine. This will just make Creed stronger.;)
|
You're right, Agent D. The court better throw this case right out the window!! If nothing else, it will probably contribute to their writing and some rockin' songs.:jam:
|
Here is the story from the news in Chicago. It is 4 'fans' who are disgruntled and full of crap, IMHO. Ya know, when I saw them in North Jersey, Scott was just getting over a pretty bad cold and he was a little flat on Stand Here With Me. Do you think I could sue for $2 million because it wasn't everything I dreamed it would be? If you ask me, this whole thing is complete bullshit. There, that's my 2 cents.
http://www.nbc5.com/news/2149622/detail.html |
Creed will just get some bad press for a while and then this will all blow over. It'll be okay
|
Just a note: the 4 individuals are not suing for $2million. They are suing for the price of each ticket they bought plus parking. The $2million figure pops up because they have made it a class action lawsuit. If each of the 15,000 people in attendance were to come forward and make a claim, the total dollar amount being sought would be ~ $2million.
This will most likely get thrown out of court. I don't see any legal grounds for this. Granted I'm not an attorney, it just doesn't seem right though. |
I am thrilled. I think all you Creed fans that act like Creed is on some higher plane are losers. I hope the judge declares it a class action!!!!!

Yeah right...
Take your chances??? The point is that is wasn't an issue of taste. Of course some of the people who drive 15 hours and have seen 10 shows won't mind if one sucks. They are still hitting 90%. I am at 0%. My first show and last show. At what point is it unacceptable??? What if he has no voice? What if he was unconscience (well wasn't he???)? You sue because people get unreasonable over money. If Creed had an ounce of honor they would give refunds without a suit. And in a baseball game the performance is the point of the game. It's a competition. At a concernt it isn't...or shouldn't be...
