I don't think you can help what you dream. Also I don't think it is necessarily the act of masturbation that is a sin. I think it is what you have to think or see (porn) in order to do it. This would be lusting and lusting is listed as a sin.

what if I were to tell you I masturbated when I was younger.... I never had porn or anything to "lust after" I did it because it felt good no lust involved so would that be a sin??

Being Sinful is a Condition of Mans' Hearts. Whether the sin was conscious or not... it's still a sin.

You can say "well then it's not my fault if it wasn't a conscious thing" well to some extent yes... We were all born into Sin and we're sinful whether we want to be or not... But If you live by faith... and you believe in God and what he has offered to us by Christ's death and Resurrection... then why wouldn't you want to try and do your best to try and not to sin.

Also... You can lust after something w/o porn. You look at any girl in plain clothes and think... man I'd like to bone her... well that's lusting isn't it?

you see but there is no shame in it at all the only reason you feel shame over it after your done tuggin the bishop is because you were brought up by your parents and your religion to believe that it is wrong and dirty..... there have been some great case studies done on human sexuality one of the best reports is a book by Judith Levine called "Harmful to Minors (the perils of protecting children from sex)" it is a total mind job and a good read at about 275 pages long you can easily read it in a week.

This contry has major misconceptions about sex and love for that matter people need to know themselves not the sexual doctrine of some religion becasue it is this that makes our county so disfunctional (imho)

ur right lunar about the medical aspect.....medically its proved that mastrubation does not have bad effect on ones body..............i recently watched the movie called "jarhead"............which was based on 1990'z iraq war....i nwhich US solodeirs were told to masturbate atleast twice a day to help them from boredrom in the desert...hehehee..............but lunar.....just try to analyse my point of view too........iam not saying it becasue religoin has banned it........i am telling it from my own experience.................as i said earlier.........let the body do whats good for it..............if u dont masturbate....body does injaculation on its own after some gap of time.......but somehow i love the feelin when i can actually say to myself that yes...i have control over whats mine and i am not udner control of whats that is mine............u know......thats one thing for me that is part of being a man!!.............

That being said, I believe that God lays on hearts different sins when he knows we are ready to tackle them. When we are just beginning as a Christian he may show us certain sins in our life but as we grow he begins to show us more and more of the sins in our life. I believe he only shows us when we are ready to try to tackle that sin. For example, my preacher said that when he became a Christian he still loved the have a Beer. It wasn't until a year or 2 after he became a Christian that God revealed that this was sin to him. Not because he was consuming alcohol but because it may have an influence on someone else who struggles with alcohol. Up until God showed this to him it was not a sin. I drink alcohol still and God has not chosen to show me that it is a sin in my life yet. I do believe that God has chosen to show me that masturbation is a sin in my life. It is a hard thing to tackle. I think that sometimes it can have a negative affect on your marriage too. I think when you lust after other women it can have an affect your attraction to your wife. The less I do it the more I find my wife sexually attractive.

Very true. I agree with both of you guys. Good answers.

Hey, bud, you asked. If you know you can't comprehend the answer,
maybe you should consider refraining from asking the question.
You and I both know that you are here for the sole purpose of
being annoying and attempting to throw a monkey wrench into this thread.
