My first car was an '87 Red Chevy Blazer - it had like 150,000 miles and lasted me until last Labor Day! It had its share of problems but towards the end she wouldn't keep it in park and would sometimes roll away!! The stereo didn't work in it so I bought a cheap $50 stereo + tape deck. Well, that must have been very valuable as someone broke my window while it was parked in my backyard and took it :( at least it wasn't one of those $300 stereos.

This other time I parked it at the library got out, looked at the car, it was fine, closed the door, it was fine, started to walk to the library, she started rollin'!!! LOL !!! I was chasing it with keys in hand trying to get in and hit the brake hehe. Needless to say, that was sort of dangerous so it was time to retire her.

I now have a Black 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee with lots of ammeneties :D

Ha, ha,;) I've got you all beat! My 1st car was a 1965 Burgundy Chevy Impala. I'll never forget, my Dad bought it for me for $300.00 and I thought my sh*t didn't stink.
That's when I got a job, got stupid and quit school. The only GOOD thing about it was that my hubby and I had our 1st date in that car;) (He only owned a motorcycle)
The nice thing is I now drive a 2000 Grand Prix:D Hey, I've come a long way, baby:roll:

Enjoy the Explorer, PaulMcCoygirl!! That's great of your dad to get you a cd player too.:) There's nothing like cruising down the road, the windows rolled down and some great tunes coming through the speakers!!:dancing:

...we all call it the mafia mobile because its huge, black, loaded, tinted windows... and 3 1/2 of me (6'2" 220) fit in the trunk.

LMMFAO! You are so funny, Mulletman!

My first car was a 1976 orange Datsun b210 hatchback with a black interior and only a radio! The color was hideous, but none of my friends in college minded when we all went out and I drove, LOL. I used to have to carry a case of oil in the back because it leaked like a sieve after a while. I drove that car into the ground and sold it to some kid for 500 bucks. He fixed it up and drove it for a couple of more years. It was a zippy little car, though, and fun to drive.

I swear I thought I was the only one who carried extra cans of oil in the trunk. My Vega went through a can a week. I could never get lost because all I had to do was follow the trail of oil I left behind.

My parents' last car was a 1989 Dodge Omni... it lasted until last year... still had the original exhaust system in it... only problem was it leaked oil (like Dogstar's car there).

LMAO, no, you are not a dork...well, if you are, then I am, too LOL...I have the AAA car safety kit (jumper cables, flare, pliers, fire extinguisher, among other items), blankets in the winter, boots, a jug of water, wiper fluid, brake fluid and God knows what else in there :D. Thank God Hondas have big trunks :D.

Steve 05-07-2003 11:35 PM

I would carry all that around but I'm too lazy. I just bring some pocket change to make a phone call in case my cell phone doesn't work ;)

TeriB19 05-07-2003 11:38 PM

LOL Steve. We actually got an emergency kit for Christmas two years ago, which has all the cool stuff you need in case you get stuck, broken down or whatever. Very cool!
