I am also the son and grandson of ministers and have loved the Lord for a long time. It is a touchy subject, and an interesting one. As a christian I guess I should look into it myself.

I would much rather cause my body physical damage than cause myself mental damage and harm my future relationships... My Body's strong enough and I know that God will protect my Temple. The bible says that if any part of your body causes you to sin... to "cut" it off... maybe not physically... but that's what I'm trying to do in my life

I have been with the same girl for almost 8 years, and I don't believe that whole mental damage thing. Sex is an act you perform with someone you love, not with someone you think is hot just because they have huge tits and a nice ass

Yes... but you have to ask yourself why you're attracted to the person you're in love with... granted just because you masturbate and look at porn doesn't mean you won't settle for someone that's less attractive than a pornstar... but i really do think that I looked at women in a totally different way b4 i began to masturbate and look at porn. I'm ashamed at some of the things that I've thought about some women... It Is Not Okay to Fantasize about a Girl while you masturbate and you can't masturbate without doing so. (at least i don't know anyone that can)


The Sad Thing is that alot of males Have that exact view on women... and i believe i know why...

Oh really? we're not to harm our temples? Well then I guess the hundreds
of martyrs in earth's past are in very big trouble... not to mention Jesus...

The Bible also says to be discerning.

The Bible also says to beware of false prophets who will arise and decieve many.

The Bible also says that the wisdom of man is finite.

The Bible also says to love your neighbor as yourself, and we all know that
it's virtually impossible to masturbate at nothing, so it would seem that
"jacking" at a hot chick is being disrespectful, and is in breach of what
Jesus called the second most important commandment.

Also, the inherint feeling of guilt one feels afterward (at least, one feels
afterward while one is still young and innocent, before they become
desensitized) seems to belie the conscious effort men make to excuse
"sex with oneself".

First of all, Jesus never harmed His temple. As I recall it, He was without sin, and I don't remember the part where He nailed Himself to the cross. Second of all, the martyrs died for God, they don't harm themselves. (D.C. Talk have a couple of good books on martyrs called Jesus Freaks I highly recommend).
As for the false prophets remark, I agree, and I'm not saying that you guys are not right on this subject. If I make an offer of peace are you gonna call me the Antichrist, too?

Did Jesus die unwillingly, then? I seem to recall when He told Peter
that he could summon a host of angels at any given moment, but He
didn't. In fact, Jesus healed the ear of the man whom Peter be-eared
in Jesus' defence. I'd also like to recomend a book here. Try reading
Max Lucado's "He Chose You". Very good read.

I have skimmed the first Jesus Freak book, I'm aware of what you are
saying, but if you say

i believe God created human and granted the body a defence mechanisim..........once i got a wound off a rusted nail on my heel.......and the place of the impact got filled with all that crap.....for sometime it hurted like hell....but when the spore busted..........and all the crap flew out..........the pain was instantly gone...........see......that was a defence mechanisim of hte body.......... the posioin of the rusted nail was thrown outta body................by the body itself.........if that wanst the case....i might have died (without medication) of just a rusted nail..........


the point i want to prove here....is that when God created us.....he made us in a perfect tune..........a normal balance.............. if the body needs to injaculate.............it will do it itself...............and u dont need to masturbate.................... but but but...........since we all are sorrounded by all the porn and seductive materails on tv, newspapers....movies....not to forget chicks...............its hard to maintain the balance that our body needs............we go on advertanttly or inadvertentlty thinking about al lthe seductive stuff and ended up being so overflowed with harmones in our body htat we had to masturbate................ i believe.....that if we keep our mind strong............not to get sedducted by all thats around us................then u dont have to worry aobut anything..............i mean ur body wont be harmed.....if ur system is working in a proper tune.....the body will injaculate itself..........hey......have u forgooten the time when u werent mastrubating and after some 9 or 10 or odd days u wake up in the morning with ur clothes all.............well...u know.......

I believe it is a sin. I think it is a sin because in order to do it you must lust in your mind. The bible teaches that you can commit adultery in your mind. It doesn't have to be physical. That being said, I believe that God lays on hearts different sins when he knows we are ready to tackle them. When we are just beginning as a Christian he may show us certain sins in our life but as we grow he begins to show us more and more of the sins in our life. I believe he only shows us when we are ready to try to tackle that sin. For example, my preacher said that when he became a Christian he still loved the have a Beer. It wasn't until a year or 2 after he became a Christian that God revealed that this was sin to him. Not because he was consuming alcohol but because it may have an influence on someone else who struggles with alcohol. Up until God showed this to him it was not a sin. I drink alcohol still and God has not chosen to show me that it is a sin in my life yet. I do believe that God has chosen to show me that masturbation is a sin in my life. It is a hard thing to tackle. I think that sometimes it can have a negative affect on your marriage too. I think when you lust after other women it can have an affect your attraction to your wife. The less I do it the more I find my wife sexually attractive.
