Again, the rules are, there are no rules. You can post your favorite old singer, band, trio, quartet, orchestra etc.

I'm partial to Billy Joel (singer) The Who (band) Genesis (quartet/trio) and actually listened to ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) for awhile so I fall under all of the above. Your turn.;)

Man, I have a lot, but here's who comes to mind: Yes, America, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Neil Young, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin....the list goes on.

Killer! I love Yes. Even newer Yes! I was lucky enough to see them this summer, twice. Saw them at Clearlake, California....awesome venue, right beside a lake. They played for nearly 3 hours and Wakeman was back with the crew.

Word is, they've already scheduled some late 2002 tour dates. I'm there if they come back around here.

I'm with you on these choices!

I saw Jackson Brown a few weeks ago. He opened for Tom Petty and outperformed him IMHO. I was so stoked because he did a song off of "I'm Alive" called "Everywhere I Go"

Santana! You know where I'll be when you're in Vegas.
;)
I've seen Santana more times than any other artist, and still counting. It's just great fun. Carlos was my first concert, at the age of 10. He played with Tower of Power in Vegas, at the Aladdin. I still have the concert stub.

Anybody into Moody Blues or Rare Earth?

How about a really obscure Dave Loggins?

Would love to see Jackson Brown! Been awhile since I listened to Moody Blues. Not heard of Rare Earth by artist name.
Loggins, like in Messina ohhh * memories * sweet, sweet music..

Yeah, Europa is a wonderful tune, the first Santana tune I ever heard because my mom loved it so.

Try "Spirits Dancing in the Flesh" CD by Santana. There are a couple of "Europa like," slow, bluesy, love songs on that one.

Rare Earth has some great soul/rock tunes. Recognize these?
"I Just Want to Celebrate (another day of life)"
"Born to Wander"
"Hey Big Brother"
"Get Ready"

They're from the 70s. Great, fun music. Really makes you move. Killer lyrics, too.

Now, as far as Dave Loggins goes, he's the guy that had the big 70's hit, "Please Come to Boston"
That particular country/gospel song came out on an obscure tape called "A Musical Aprentice Workshop"
Very obscure, but very, very excellent, sing-a-long music.

Cocker's got a killer, raspy voice, kinda' like Stapps. ;)

I saw INXS recently, without Hutchence, of course. While it wasn't quite the same, I do hope the band continues. They are great musicisians and a fun show to see live.

Vapor Trails rocks! I got it about a month ago, prepping to see Rush in concert which, btw, was one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. Saw them last week. Peart is possibly the greatest drummer ever! He was fully surrounded by a cluster of drums that spun around to face him. His 15 minute solo was absolutely mindblowing! Anyways, Vapor Trails is excellent. It's on the heavy side which, IMHO, is goood!

Yeah, I saw it in the theater where the sound was a little better, but I did have to get used to the accents. The guy who played Dave was a hoot. Mark Addy, I think his name is. I still laugh when I watch it on video.

I saw RUSH live and they were cool. I also like the doors, Pink Floyd, old Motley Crue, Tantric and the Stones. But at this point, no one compares to Creed. I listen every day, several times a day. I rarely listen to the radio cuz the reception is bad for the good local station here.

Now, in analyzing those lyrics, are they meant to say that education is unnecessary? Or, does the double negative apply?
"We don't need NO eduction" in other words, we need education?

It seems to me, from the context of that song, Waters meant to say that education is unnecessary. "Teachers, leave them kids alone."

Go figure.

But, who in their right mind would knock education? I know, from a certain point of view, ignorance is bliss, but was that his point?
