Maybe I'm nitpicking here, but whether we (as nonprofessional singers) could do better is not the point. It's not a valid comparision because we aren't professional singers.

Oh it's kinda like an arm chair quarter back okay I see. Lame excuse if you ask me. Ever think about how much Scott's health was f***ed up because he was told to suck it up?????

I can't wait to see how myles handles this.....Myles run, be afraid be very afraid.....esp if they mention predisone........from what I hear he is already having voice problems and is missing soundchecks and ummm let's see they are only how many months into touring??????????? Oh and I forgot he is a bit of a prima donna also........this is of course from the vh1 board if you care to check.

Oh and I forgot to add I personally know a friend who has been to an a/b concert.................confirms what was posted at vh1....

We're not talking about other performances or Myles. We're talking about the World Series and Scott Stapp. Did I miss something? If you think he did a good job, fine, but I don't.

Hmm subpar performance according to who? You? You are some music professional.........oh I see......hmmm............

Let's see a/b is in seattle and the cost to see them is what $9.99 to get in........that ain't gonna pay for those tour busses long now is it? Oh and let's not forget the buy one get one free...........Oh and with Brian's wonderful presence in Seattle with the Pearl Jam comment a few years ago that is sure to endear the fine folks of Seattle to a/b...........

said it once before, but i wonder if Myles is starting to realize what he has gotten himself into? make no mistake about it, AB is MARKS band, his baby, and if Myles knows what's good for him, he best learn to bow down and kiss Marks ass and the rest of the Tremonti clan and start staying for those soundchecks to completion man. plagued by voice problems already, being pushed to perform when he's not up to par, riding in a separate bus from the others because of illness, seems to me that history is repeating itself here, but alot quicker than the past. yessir, i'd say karma is traveling pretty quickly too.

I have no idea what you are talking about. There are already a couple of threads discussing Stapp's performance at the World Series. In those threads, I said Scott sounded flat in some parts and didn't have command of his breathing. You are the one deflecting and trying to cloud the issue by bringing Myles into this. There is no double standard.

As for you "knowing someone who went to an a/b show"
Whoopty. I've been. Myles was sick off his ass, and still made the show. He could barely speak between songs.
As for the Prima Donna? He waited outside and talked with anyone who wanted to talk to him, took pictures, signed everything that was asked of him. WITH the flu, looking tired as hell, 2AM in the moring, after a hellaciously good show. Prima Donna my ass.
At least he isn't CANCELING things cuz of his flu
They rescheduled every show that they couldnt make, and will honor the original tickets....
If youre gonna start shit, at least know what youre talking about.

BobbyMcGee,

The topic at hand in this thread is the opinion that Stapp's performance was not good. Why is it that when someone puts Stapp down you immediately start referring to Alter Bridge and "problems" you see with them? It has nothing to do with Stapp? Anytime someone says anything bad about Stapp, you immediately "bash" Alter Bridge?

And just an FYI, Myles came down with a cold and was sick. I don't know about missing practices, but they did cancel two shows because of his illness. He has since been cleared by doctors and is now performing again, at 100%. There is nothing else wrong with him.

fluttergirl

Steve

Actually it might have been the flu. All I know is he was really sick ;) Cold or flu, it doesn't matter. He was sick and he has gotten over it now. :)

And the FYI was to Bobby. I actually didn't read your post, fluttergirl, before I made my post.

Hey, if you're a Cardinal fan as I, that was the highlight. Wasn't mush else to cheer about.actually, no
the flyover during the nat'l anthem was pretty tight, at least from where we were sitting
plus, i got to witness baseball history firsthand. pretty sweet stuff, even if my team lost. talking to a guy next to us who traded tix to game 5 w/ a Sox fan so he (the guy next to us) could get game 4 tix... said the Sox fan had already paid and everything whatever amount extra, but was wondering if he'd swing by to pick up the tix... pretty obvious who came out on top o' that deal lol
and there was tony womack's leadoff hit... and edgar renteria's 2... and pujols' one towards the end.... and... and... the Cards' pitching not sucking after the 3rd inning... and yelling at the home plate umpire was great b/c he sucked lol

First and foremost .....the subject is about Scott's preformance at the world series, and I am not gonna comment on that cause I did not see it, but Bobby you have now pissed me off....You are showing your ignorance again!!!!! The 9.99 tickets .....yes it is paying for their buses, and do YOU think Creed's tickets were high priced at first????I DON'T THINK SO!!!!!! You also said "buses"....They only have ONE bus.

Now!!!! You are talking about Brian, and the Seattle radio interview!!!! I'm not gonna go into that because it was a bunch of bull, stuff being taken out of context, and in the same interview he praied PJ, said he use to listen to them in high school. Maybe because it was during the world series......and people watch the world series.....

Yep, that's true, lots of people watched the world series. But Stapp wasn't on very long, all you had to do was get up and go to the bathroom and you would have missed it. Or you could have gotten up to get something to drink, or checked sports scores on ESPN. You could have channel surfed too.

Lots of reasons to miss it, but only one to sit and watch something that you knew from the beginning you weren't going to like. :)

I thought he did a great job!! :D

Okay, so this isn't about Stapp's performance anymore. That's cool. I'll post a few comments then.

If I'm not mistaken, AB's ticket prices have varied. For what reason, I have no idea unless it's to fill venues. Because some tix are 9.99 and I believe that the show in GB, tickets are 23.50. You also have to remember johellion, that your talking about Creed tix being 5.00 more than 10 years ago.

That very same dj, that Brian made those PJ comments to said on air not a week or so ago, that Brian was calling from a fishing boat and that he was intoxicated. No one is stirring the shit, go listen to it, there is nothing to be taken out of context.

He was most definitely "AWE-FUL(L)"....in that he did a great job with a difficult song....taken in that context what's there to "bitch" about?

OK... I Didn't bother Reading this thread after Page 2... so if i'm repeating Someone else... i apologize...
THE FACTS ARE, SCOTT STAPP DIDN'T SING THE SONG VERY WELL. PERIOD.
Whether it was because of Illness or just because he Can't Sing anymore Doesn't Matter! He embarrassed himself And Creed fans alike! If he was Sick he shouldn't have done it! Stapp will never seem to learn that you can SAY NO. This is what caused problems with creed... and it's hurting him now. IF YOU'RE SICK. DON'T GO OUT THERE!!! People will understand! And those that don't Aren't worth it!

IF YOU'RE SICK. DON'T GO OUT THERE!!! People will understand! And those that don't Aren't worth it!

very interesting quote, Wylde-Tremonti, because apparently you don't understand...if stapp would have NOT done the song, he would have caught flack for it...so he did the song anyways and is still catching flack for it...

he did well, with a difficult song, under the circumstances, which only he knows for sure. I don't think he embarassed himself in the least...what I have observed, is that it is some so called Creed Fans and former Creed Fans that have become the biggest embarassment to the memory of Creed.

As for stapp not being able to sing anymore...hang in there a few more months..because I have a feeling that a lot of people will find out how many ways "Crow" can be eaten.

Well said !!!!!!

Oh please, you really need to get off the cross. Damned if you do, damned if you don't? Why doesn't he stop worrying about what other people think and just do what's right for him? His voice was not strong and he was flat. Whatever the reason, maybe Matt's right and Scott should have declined.

We've been over this, but I will disagree with you once more. I wouldn't say he embarrassed himself, but he did not perform well. People I watched it with who knew nothing about him thought he sucked, plain and simple

...what I have observed, is that it is some so called Creed Fans and former Creed Fans that have become the biggest embarassment to the memory of Creed.
Give me a break already. Once again, we are chastised for trying to be honest about what we saw and heard and for *gasp* spouting so-called negativity . Believe me, if I thought he nailed the song, I would have been singing his praises all over the board. He didn't.

As for stapp not being able to sing anymore...hang in there a few more months..because I have a feeling that a lot of people will find out how many ways "Crow" can be eaten.
Matt didn't say he couldn't sing anymore; he simply suggested it as a possibility. I hope the man's voice recovers from whatever it was that ailed it because I want to enjoy his music, too. It has nothing to do with eating crow.

I can't say I think Stapp did an excellent job singing the song. I've certainly seen better performances from him. However, I also think it's a bit harsh to say he embarrassed himself.

Ctfan....first and foremost I was not talking to you.....I was talking to BobbyMgee....and I know some of those tickets may vary,,, I was at the Voodoo fest...it was 40.00....I know this, I was making reference to what Bobby was saying...in general!!

yep Brian was calling from a fishing boat, and he may have been drinking, , I have listened to it many times....and yes it still can be taken out of context..like I told Bobby...don't talk about stuff YOU know nothing about, and if you want to dicuss it more PM or IM me,,,,

Bobby, and Ctfan.....stop digging up old dead horses :D

Yes, I'm sure tix for the V fest were 40.00, but Alter Bridge wasn't the only band who performed, right? :) 9.99 for a ticket on the west coast, like I said before I have no idea why unless it's to fill venues because I've heard nothing of any kind of special promotion, fan appreciation ticket rate, or radio deal. If I'm wrong on that, please, by all means correct me.

As for sending you a pm or im, I don't want to read anything you have to say privately. I am quite capable of forming my own opinions. I know what I heard.

Speaking out of turn? I thought this was a message board, and anyone who wished to post comment could :D

This was in response to something that Wylde-TremontiWanabe said in a previous post, about his maybe declining to sing if he was ill or his voice wasn't up to snuff. He said Scott needed to learn to say no once in a while. My impression is that Scott sometimes overextends himself because he's trying to please everybody and doesn't want to disappoint people.

Someone in this thread, a couple pages back I believe mentioned ticket prices. And someone else, can't remember who...couldn't believe that they were so cheap.

Steve, as for copying and pasting my comments, I'm quite sure you will, your good that way aren't you?? Let me leave you with this though: Stapp, I believe said that he would perform a few free shows, because some had to be cancelled in the past.

And Alter Bridge performed a fan appreciation show in Chicago for $9.47 because of what Stapp did two years prior. So?

Because in a thread discussing Stapp's rendition of a song he sung on live television, you bring up Alter Bridge and their ticket prices, insinuating they set prices at certain levels to be sure they can draw a crowd. My simple response was that when Stapp starts touring, and if he has $9.99 ticket prices, I'll simply quote what you said. Will you have the same opinion of Stapp then? Because your opinion of AB and their prices isn't very positive.

9.99 for a ticket on the west coast, like I said before I have no idea why unless it's to fill venues because I've heard nothing of any kind of special promotion, fan appreciation ticket rate, or radio deal

My whole point is that there are some people who are die-hard Stapp fans, or die-hard AB fans. Some of those die-hard Stapp fans get angry when they see AB fans bashing Stapp. Yet, these Stapp fans are doing the same exact thing, and don't even realize it.

If it sucked so much, it's interesting that Yahoobuzz.com reported Scott Stapp searches up 388% following his rendition on "God Bless America" at the World Series. That made him the top mover in the Music category at one time. I'd say that's pretty impressive! I thought he did a great job.

IMO this board should just be changed to the Alter Bridge forums completely, because most of the Stapp fans have left here because of the disrespect towards each other. We are not "one" anymore. Not that my opinoin matters to any of you. I usually get disgusted each time I decide to come back here, and wonder why the Hell I even bother.

To all the Stapp fans, there are other Stapp boards out there where everyone is treated with an equal amount of respect, unlike here. I suggest you go Googleing for a new home!

The majority of the buying public has proven over and over that it has not much in the way of taste. Witness the sales of records by, ahem, singers Britney Spears and the boy bands. So, that little stat means nothing to me. I, for one, never said his overall performance was "awful"; I just said he was flat in some areas and had a problem holding notes for whatever reason. Overall, I've seen him perform better.

I disagree, and it's not your board anyway; it's Steve's. There are plenty of Scott Stapp fans here who are eagerly awaiting his solo release, and some of them happen to enjoy Alter Bridge as well. It's the blatant worshiping and rose-colored view of Stapp that SOME fans have that annoys some of us, myself included.
