What are some of your Christmas traditions????????????

My Mom and I always eat chocolate covered cherries and wrap presents. Even though I moved out a long time ago and live 2 1/2 hours away, we still do it. It's fun to learn to love the little things.

That's so nice Carrie. Great to continue on with traditions even after you leave the house. We always go to Mass on Christmas Eve and then come home and unwrap one gift. Then Christmas morning we rip all the stuff apart and have a big breakfast and a big turkey dinner with all the same trimmings that we have on Thanksgiving. Can't wait to start decorating!

Me too...going to be doing that today...cleaned my house yesterday to get ready for today!! Can't have a messy house with all that great x-mas stuff!!

I have to wait until December to decorate. It's all I can do to get the energy to take down my Thanksgiving decorations after eating that big meal. I usually start decorating the first week in Dec. but we won't put our tree up until around the 20th.

Open presents X-mas eve, watch The Christmas Story on X-mas day, have a big breakfast at home and a big dinner at night at my Aunt/Uncle house. That's about it really.

That's so cool when people have family traditions!! I don't really have any traditions, but always spend the holidays with the people I love the most...MY FAMILY!! Unfortunately, my mom usually works, but thankfully, this year she finally has x-mas off!! That's the drag of working in a casino...they NEVER CLOSE!! But atleast for the next couple of years she'll have it, being as her days off are Wed, Thurs and Fri!! I'm soooo HAPPY!! Finally get to spend x-mas day with my mommy!! :bounce: :dancing:

That is nice, we always do the same food as well. I am such a fan of the Holidays that I had my tree up about a week before Thanksgiving, my kids love to decorate as well.

That is exactly what we do minus the big breakfast. Mom usually puts out homemade candy and some Swedish brownies in the morning. But then there's the turkey dinner later on! I live far away now, but my parents send me my gifts if I can't get home for Christmas and I still open one on Christmas Eve and then call them after Mass to tell them which one I opened!

That's so nice. It must be hard to be away from your family around the holidays. You know you have extended family a little closer this year, don't you?

Shanna's Christmas Tradtions
by Shanna

On the Christmas holidays, we go to my grandmothers house on my moms side on Christmas Eve and open any presents from aunts/uncles/cousins and eat dinner. Then, on the following morning (Christmas Day) my brother and I open our presents from mom and dad :D and then my grandmom on my moms side comes over OUR house and we open presents from them. Later that day, we head on over to my grandparents house on my dads side and open any presents from uncles/aunts/cousins/grandparents there and have dinner. Finally, while we are there we have just started doing this (this will be the second year we do it, and this year my cousin and I are in on it too) we get gag gifts (or nice gifts) under $15 and wrap them and pick numbers out of hats and pick the presents randomly so that u dont know what present ur gonna get and anyone who goes after you can trade for your present without your consent, if after you open it they see it to their liking. Its pretty fun lol.

Awwwww, you are too kind. Thank you soooooo much! :)
Actually, this year, I might even have the day off. The schedule comes out next week, so I should find out. It's on a Wednesday, and I have Monday and Tuesday off, so I could get a three-day weekend out of it! If so, I definitely will be home for the holidays. It'll be the first time in about three years!

Well this is what happens in my house on Christmas Day:

I wake up usually at around 6am every Xmas morning, go and have a look at the pressies under the tree, then me and my brother watch Christmas cartoons on tv while mum and dad are having their shower, then we open all of the presents, :dancing: then for the rest of the morning we are just usually playing board games and doin family stuff, then sometimes i help my mum get CHristmas dinner (YUM!!) then that is usually ready at about 1.30pm, we have that, then we all lounge around for the rest of the afternoon cauze our tummies feel like they are gonna BURST!!!!!!

DangerousDan85
