Whats happening y'all. Sounds like you guys are just as excited as I am about this new band. One thing I can promise you is that I put my best foot foreward and pulled out all of my best song ideas from the past five years and I'm very proud of the outcome. I can't wait for you all to get to know Myles as a frontman, I believe he is the best the world has to offer and he is also very eager to get Alter Bridge off the ground. So stay tuned, there is no more waiting around...it is all about to happen and we plan to work around the clock to get things started. Thanks for being there, your loyalty means the world to us. See you soon.

No, I'm thinking that was more a veiled statement from Trem that:

Right, but there are still people that are in denial about Creed's apparent demise. Furthermore, a lot of people think the split had nothing to do with Stapp vs "the band" and was not a result of any rift between members.

I think there needs to be a point where people stop reading more into things than is really there.

As for Stapp still having it, time will tell. I don't doubt he does, but I think we'll really see when he puts his effort out. Rock on.

Well, you tell me what you think he meant? He said Myles was "the best." Tremonti used to reserve such praise for Stapp when Creed was still alive. I think that's pretty significant, especially when it came directly to us from Mark -- he knew he was talking directly to fans. It was significant, I thought. Keep in mind that the band essentially replaced Stapp with Kennedy...

It's perfectly natural to want to brag up your new lead singer rather than living in the past. Creed = old busted joint. Alter Bridge = new hotness.

I'm of the opinion the REAL reason people didn't like Creed was because of Stapp's antics. Now that he's gone, I'm thinking people will warm to AB and judge them based on their music.

That really is a hard subject to tackle. They should be praised. I just want to see how the critics react once they find out that Alter Bridge has 3/4's the members of Creed.

some critics and stations won't like them simply for the "Former Creed members" tag they'll give them. Some people just flat out didn't like Creed (and some didn't like them for other reasons than STapp)....

I think AB knows they have to prove themselves as a new band. They know people will do the "Creed comparison"....and I think they're deliberatly stearing away from that.

And yes, a LOT of people didn't like Creed for Stapps antics. Some of those will probably embrace AB faster.

Everyone will react in different ways.

Well, AB *is* Creed minus Stapp, like it or not. Their music may be different -- I'm looking specifically at their membership. Plus, when you also factor in the return of Marshal, I think that says a great deal about how there was/is a rift between Stapp and the rest of Creed.

I never said he couldn't say so. Heck, I agree with him. I'm just trying to underscore how significant his words were. Seeing how Creed was not-too-long-ago the world's biggest band, I think this split is one of epic proportions.

He never said he thought STapp was bad, but that he thought Myles was better. Stapp isn't the best out there. One of the top, sure...the best...not by a long shot.
