Deep inside where it dies
Beneath all you pride
All your lies
Roads taken now forgotten
Took the wrong turn maybe you'll learn
Before you feel the burn
Feel the tears in your throat
Know why they choke
The fear, the hope, the love
Gentelness gives a hard shove
You try to get under controll
But deeper digs that hole in your soul
From behind comes confidence, anger, and laughter
But should that really matter?
Maybe confession will throw a rope
So you can climb out your bottomless slope
Are you forgiven
Or only hidden?
Who's to speak of your last breath?
Who's to know your hate, crime, and death?
Mankind is sure to deceive
Causing our hearts' to bleed
We tend to cheat so we do not lose
