Anyone watch the pilot to this new original series on HBO tonight? It was pretty interesting. I think I'll be tuning in to it next week!

1934. The Dustbowl. The last great age of magic. In a time of titanic sandstorms, drought and pestilence - signs of God's fury and harbingers of the Apocalypse - the final conflict between good and evil is about to begin. The battle will take place in the Heartland of an empire called America. And when it is over, man will forever trade away wonder for reason.

Steve, I agree it was interesting! It has a different flavor to it. I just about died when that guy was digging a hole with a garden shovel to burry his mother. I think I will tune in next week as well!:)

dont get hbo, after 10 all the good movies end and the porn begins... and not very good ones at that either. we get starz and it rules.

Steve

Mulletman, you may be confusing HBO with Showtime or something, because they really only show those porn movies on Friday/Saturday nights. I actually like HBO, they show lots of good movies at 1am, movies I would prob. never have watched during the day (just because the movie is the only thing on at 1am). And the monthly price of HBO is worth it just for The Sopranos on Sunday nights :D

prolly... i still like starz better. we get the lotr series and the matrix.

Steve

Yea, I want to get Starz as well as HBO, just for that reason.

Steve on HBO do you watch Real Talk with Bill Mahr

Steve
09-15-2003, 02:57 PM
Yes I watch Bill Mahr. Although the last few shows have been very bad IMO. I usually disagree with Bill Mahr's views but I enjoy watching his show, but the last few shows have turned into "bash President Bush" sessions. Some of his guests try to have serious discussions while other guests simply crack jokes every other minute.

I don't get hbo either;) I didn't want to pay the extra $10 a month for the movie channels:rolleyes: :D

How old is this getting, bashing George Bush, hell they did not bash Clinton this bad with all the lies and scandals he was involved in:rolleyes: I actually find some of the media comical, it is so obvious how they treat different political interviews:rolleyes:

i know like that D.L hughley he tells a joke after every topic he is so annoying. I want them to have mccain on there and the owner of the RIaa on there and more. It is sure fun to watch though.

Yes it is fun to watch. That D.L. Hughley is the worst guest on the show. Not just because he tells jokes all the time, but because that's all he does. When he tries to be serious, he bases his opinions on nothing but speculation and guesses. He never states anything important and factual. At least when Dennis Miller is on (who does tell lots of jokes) he presents valid arguments with facts.

you right steve, i hope D.L Hughley is never back on that show. I still think they should have a reoulican, a democrat, and an independent. That that will make a great episode just imagine the arguing. Jesse Vantura I liked him on oit as was he was really good getting strieght to the point.

I joined the Yahoo Carnivale Group. I love getting 50 emails about peoples' interpretations and theories as to what is happening and what will happen.

Who is good? Who is bad? What are their powers? Who is "management"? What does Sophie's mom and Lodz have in common? What about Justin and Iris' relationship?

Very intriguing show.

I was also wondering about Justin and Iris' relationship. I think it's going to turn out to be a little sick.
